Webster merit cum means scholarship which provides for tuition fee waiver for a year up to the fee of one semester. The selection is carried out by a Committee. Merit is based on marks in 10th standard, 10+2 standard and Ist semester in ratio of 15%, 35% and 50% respectively.

So far five students have been awarded and are receiving scholarship since its inception. (B) The Jaypee India Scholars Fund has been launched to provide financial assistance to meritorious students with poor financial and economic conditions for pursuing higher technical

education (4-year UG programme) in the Jaypee Education System comprising of JIIT Noida, JUIT Waknaghat and JIET Guna with effect from the admission year 2008. 25 financially and economically poor students would be provided financial assistance equivalent to the tuition fee and IDF every year for pursuing the 4-year UG programme starting from the admission year 2008 in the Jaypee Education System. The scholarship will be available for all the 4 years of their study, provided they maintain a minimum performance every year in their respective program of study. The unique aspect of this scholarship scheme is that such students will also enter into an undertaking to repay back the total scholarship amount over a period of 3 years, post graduating from the Institute. Financial assistance would be given to students enrolling from the year 2008 onwards subject to the following criteria: Combined Income of the parents / guardians should be less than Rs. 1.50 Lacs per annum. Merit shall be determined on the basis of weightages th th of marks obtained in 10 and 12 exams and the AIEEE Rank as given below: 10th class exam 15% 12th class exam 35% AIEEE Rank 50% To be eligible for continuation of this assistance in subsequent years, the student would need to fulfill the following criteria and reapply to the respective Institute. CGPA greater than or equal to 7.0 (on a 10-point scale) Combined income of the parents/guardian less than or equal to Rs 1.5 lacs per annum The recipient of the financial assistance shall have to reimburse the total amount of the financial assistance amount to the Fund after graduation. No interest will be charged during the 4-years of study period. However interest @ 5% shall be charged on the unpaid amount wef 5th year on wards till the repayment is made in full. The re-imbursement shall be made within a 3-year period after graduating from the Institute in equal 36 equated monthly installments (EMIs), inclusive of interest as given above.

REFUND POLICY

Tuition Fee & IDF In compliance to Instructions of MHRD / AICTE, the Institute shall refund the amounts deposited by the candidates who fails to register on the specified date given in the admission letter, after deducting a processing fee of Rs. 1000/- (one thousand only). In case the candidate registers and then withdraws the refund shall be made after deducting pro-rata monthly charges, provided the seat is filled up. Otherwise, candidate shall forfeit the entire amount. Further, in case candidate withdraws after date of closure of admission process, the entire amount deposited by the candidate, except caution money shall be forfeited. It may further be noted that any part of the month shall be treated as full month. The semester duration is of five months and annual fee shall be treated for 10 months for calculation of pro-rata refunds. Caution Money: Caution Money shall to be refunded after completion of the course or at the time of withdrawal from the programme. Hostel Fee: The hostel fee will be refunded after charging students monthly fee @ Rs.6000/- after candidate joins the hostel. Any part of the month, shall be treated as full month. Waitlist Fee: It is fully refundable in case a student is not offered any branch, as per Choice Form up to the specified date. In case student is offered a seat and does not join or withdraws before the date specified for closure of admission, he/she shall be eligible for complete refund after deducting processing fee of Rs. 1000/- provided the seat is filled up. In case student does not join on being offered seat and seat is left vacant, entire amount shall be forfeited. The refund amounts shall be remitted through bank drafts/pay orders/cheques within 60 days of receipt of application for withdrawal closure date of admission process, which ever is later.

CRITERIA AND WEIGHTAGE FOR ADMISSION :

Eligibility criteria of subjects in qualifying exams for all programs and (dual degree biotech - 50% seats) is as prescribed for AIEE E exam Criteria for Year of Qualifying Examination and Date of Birth (for admissions 2010) Only those candidates are eligible to apply who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination not before 2008 or those appearing in 2010 and Those candidates appearing in the final examination in 2010 are also eligible to appear for the Entrance Test for consideration of provisional admission. All candidates who are offered provisional

admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) to the Institute authority latest by September 30, 2009 failing which, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results in qualifying examinations are likely to be declared after September 30, 2009 the candidates are advised to seek admission next year as no representations for extension of dates for any reason whatsoever, shall be entertained. Whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1989. (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic). GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Candidates must produce certificate of proof of the above conditions at the time of counseling failing which they will be disqualified. If an applicant is found ineligible even at a later date even, after admission to the Institute, his/her admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents of the candidates. The decision of the Admissions Committee of the Institute regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF SUBJECTS IN QUALIFYING EXAMS (FOR STUDENTS WITH PHYSICS AND BIOLOGY AT 10+2 LEVEL FOR DUAL DEGREE BIOTECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS FOR BALANCE 50% OF SEATS). Physics & Biology/Biotechnology shall be the core subjects in 10+2 or equivalent examination*. Besides above the candidate can have any two out of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science and English as other subjects. The merit list shall be arrived at through a process of normalization as given below: Normalized Index = 0.25 * S/T Where P=Physics, B=Biology, C=Chemistry, BT=Biotechnology, CS=Computer Science, E=English S=P+B+BEST TWO OF(C,CS,E,BT) T=Percentage of the topper of that board. The Institutes reserves the right to do the normalization on the basis of estimated T in case it is not available from corresponding Board/University or the candidate. Post Graduate Programme: Merit based on valid GATE score / PGET conducted for Non Gate score holders who fulfill eligibility criteria. Minimum Level of Acceptance : To be decided by the Admission Committee. ADMISSION FORMS The Admission Forms, Procedures and Schedule of admission is uploaded on the Institutes website, www.jiit.ac.in. LIST OF APPLICANTS The merit position of candidates who qualify for the counseling is accessible on the web site, along with AIEEE ranking. The candidates are also advised to report for counseling in case individual letters sent to the merit listed candidates fail to reach them. No Lists are applicable against Management Quota, as Institute do not offer any such seats.
