The first discovery that surfactants inhibit the production of the pellets and, by doing so, the fluxes of the chemical elements (C, N, P, Si, and Al) via feeding and the pellets produced by aquatic mollusks; A discovery of the fact that synthetic surfactants (part of detergents) slow down (decrease, inhibit) the geochemical fluxes of chemical elements in the biosphere: they slow down or interrupt the vertical (downward) fluxes of chemical elements toward the bottom of freshwater ecosystems, via pellets of mollusks (including Lymnaea stagnalis); , () ( ),

The author in the paper discovered new very hazardous phenomenon: man-made inhibition of biogeochemical fluxes of chemical elements in the aquatic and global environments. This discovery calls for key changes in modeling, and prognostication of climate -forming factors (e.g. global carbon cycling). This is a necessary step toward measures to stop, prevent or mitigate global changes and global warming. Application: To improve modeling of global environment, global change, and climate change; to ensure sustainability , and prevent global warming.
