Warm Up Activity:
I will sit under the rain cloud with an umbrella. I will ask the children "What is happening?" The children will say: "It is raining." I will ask the children to look up at the ceiling and tell me where the rain is coming from. The students should reply, "the cloud." I will remind the children that rain is a form of weather and we are going to learn more about rain and weather.

Lesson Sequence:
1. We will begin the lesson with the Warm-up activity. (5 minutes) 2. After the warm up activity, there will be a class discussion about weather. As a class we will create a K-W-L Chart about what students know about weather, and what they want to know about weather. (5 minutes) 3. I will use a PowerPoint to introduce what the class knows about weather. (10 minutes) 4. After the PowerPoint, we will revisit the K-W-L chart. Students will share what they learned and we will take a look at what we still want to learn about weather. (5 minutes) 5. I will have the students create a weather model. The weather model is a diagram /scene that shows their knowledge of weather. While the students are using class time to work on their models, I will read The Rain Day Book.(15 minutes) 6. Students will clean up their mess. Students may continue to work on their models as home. While students are cleaning we will sing rain related music. (5 minutes) 7. After cleaning up students will be handed the out the door slip that they will complete and turn in. (5 minutes) Total Approximate time for this lesson: 45 Minutes Accommodations: Teacher will assist if necessary, any and all IEP accommodations

Review/Assessment: I will use a rubric to evaluate the models. There will also be an informal
assessment at the end of the PowerPoint. There will also be an out the door slip at the end of the lesson. Reflection: Some possible problems that I see with this lesson would be some students having too much time to complete their model and some students not having enough time to create their model. Noise level might be an issue as well.
