The easy, natural way to wellness

Saunas such as the SA- and SX-line make a proven contribution to all-round health and wellness. And by regularly stepping into their natural and rejuvenating environments, youll soon feel the difference in your personal wellness level. The heat of a sauna increases the kernel temperature of your body. And the levels of happiness hormones (endorphin and serotonin) are increased as well. This and the alternation between hot and cold improves blood circulation and the bodys metabolism. In cases of hypertension, studies show that stimulating circulation in this way, three or four times a week, can even reduce high blood pressure. The heat also makes you sweat. This washes toxins from your tissue and contributes to a healthy skin. Finally, saunas and steam boost your entire immune system. This is because the sauna process with its changes in heat (warm shower followed by hot sauna followed by cold shower) opens up skin pores, improving the bodys ability to adapt to extremes of temperature. So, your body is prepared when you experience sudden changes in weather conditions and is less vulnerable to the illnesses this can cause.

More and more people are discovering infrared, the natural technique that offers deeper stimulation. Infrared warms the body at a more comfortable pace and is perfect for the many people who prefer a milder heat. Warmth is one of the oldest remedies of mankind. Fire, heated stones, ovens and saunas belong to the traditional methods of warming up the body. The oldest and most powerful source of warmth generation is the sun. The sun radiates three types of infrared waves: infrared A, B and C. Infrared A and B penetrate deeply into the skin and are mainly used for medical purposes. Infrared C is safe to use in everyday conditions. This is why Villeroy & Boch infrared cabins only make use of infrared C waves. Infrared in the SA-line. A foil situated between the two panels that form the wall of the cabin generates the infrared waves. These radiate through the interior cabin panel to warm up the inside of the cabin and your body. People who do not like the hot and dry air of a traditional sauna often choose infrared treatment. This is also because the infrared treatment works in a way that warms the body in a gentle, more gradual way than a traditional sauna. Generally the infrared cabin is used at a temperature of 35-45C. The positive physiological effects of an infrared treatment, however, are comparable to that of a sauna. A perfect match. Would you like to add extra humidity to your infrared experience? Comfort Climate for a softer steam

Comfort Climate is another way to enjoy sauna-derived wellness benefits without the heat of a traditional sauna. At temperatures ranging from 50-60C, Comfort Climate enables you to choose from Warm Air, Soft Steam Bath or Aroma Bath. Some people prefer an alternative to the dry and hot sauna experience. For these people Villeroy & Boch offers Comfort Climate: a mix of mild temperature in combination with a relatively high level of humidity. Humidity ensures a pleasant climate at all times, and the high-quality stainless steel heater has an evaporator pan for essential oils.

They include sauna variants that range from hot and dry humidity to a medium-temperature steam treatment. Each one offers similar health benefits, and all can be enjoyed in the same sauna. The benches, bench-backs, heater protection and head rests are made from Abachi, a type of wood which conducts minimal heat and is resinand splinter-free. All materials and details such as the glass and the dials are designed for attractive longevity. The stability and integrated functions are often not immediately obvious, but each one contributes to the luxury and comfort of the sauna experience. Take the entrance as an example: notice that it has no threshold, allowing you to glide in and out at your ease. You can also enhance your experience with light and aroma features. Thanks to the integrated state-of-the-art technology, your sauna can be programmed so that its ready for use at any time you wish. Whats more, your previous five sauna bath programmes are stored by our Comfort Control, for fast and easy access. Thats wellness in its purest form.

Imagine creating your own wellness sensations

Youll spend a lot of time in your sauna. So why not use lighting and aromas to create a mood thats all yours? Different colours represent or create different moods. Many people sense red as being stimulating and spirit-lifting, blue as cool and dreamy, yellow as being happy and friendly, while green is relaxing. The SA- and SX-line offer a low-pressure, four-colour lighting system that subtly paints all these colours. You can set the light to the colour of your choice, or programme it to light up in sequence. Aroma concentrates. Your sauna experience can be further enhanced with sets of aroma concentrates. Just select the aroma of your choice, sit back, and let the world outside simply fade away. Or why not combine colour and aroma to create a truly individual sauna experience?
