Executive Summary The growing utilization of plastics in industrial and consumer applications, combined with increased consumer awareness

surrounding solid waste recycling, has led to an increased demand for recycled plastic resins and products. So this is a potential field where we can start a company which will collect plastic garbage and recycle them to produce plastic products. And this led to the plan of starting up our new company EnvYcle with the tag line re-using it better. This is going to be a manufacturing company for plastic recycling. We will be doing this business in partnership- Muhammad Arif Imran (50% of the ownership), Jerin Sayed Ima (25% of the ownership) and Tawhid Imam (25% of the ownership). To reduce the continuous production of more and more plastics to avoid environmental hazards, recycling the used plastic is the best way. One of the fastest growing types of collected plastic materials for recycling is polyethylene terephthalate ("PET") from post-consumer beverage and water bottles. Replay Plastics will capitalize on the opportunities in the recycled resin and packaging markets through two main divisions: Recycling Division and Packaging Division. The Company will create a PET cleaning and refining plant and it will be located in Ashulia. Its initial capacity will be about 26 thousand tons and it will utilize post-consumer bottle feed stock presently collected from all over Dhaka. The collection amount will be over 87million pounds (according to Dhaka City-corporation) per year and the raw material cost will be 3-5tk/kg. The Company will be vertically integrated. Our manufacturing process is going to go through three main stepsCollection, recycling and selling. To ensure sufficient amount of raw material, we will collect plastic garbage from Hospitals, shopping malls, restaurants. And in order to do that we will provide them with garbage dumping containers. This will not only ensure our raw material but also the social duty of keeping the city clean. Then we will bring the raw material in our recycling plant and recycle it through 5 main steps- Shredding and cutting, disinfecting and cleaning, moulding, bleaching and dicing. Then comes the selling part where we plan to sell our product to the plastic manufacturing companies. Our product will be recycled plastic PET in the form of plastic beads of red, white, yellow, blue and green colors. The price will be the market price which is 30-40tk/kg. In our country there is a well accessible market of plastic beads. There are many plastic industries which are manufacturing plastics for various uses such as producing plastic containers, water bottles etc. and they are going to be our main customers.

One of our business purposes is, grabbing the plastic recycling market in Bangladesh and proving ourselves to be the best in the field as the plastic recycling business in Bangladesh is relatively new. We also want to ensure and utilize environmental hazard awareness in people. Our main focus will be to provide people with non-hazardous products and thus help in reducing the environmental hazards. All over the country there is ever-growing demand of plastic rawmaterials and this is a great opportunity for us to take hold of the market. Our company will be directed by the three co-owners (Muhammad Arif Imran, Tawhid Imam and Jerin Sayed Ima). Each of us will be responsible for one of the departments (Operation, maintenance and supervision). But all three of us will also have the authority to have control over other departments as well so that the entire organization can be connected and the internal bonding of the organization can be strengthened. One of our main focuses of the project has been the communication process inside and outside the organization. Our organization will have internal, external and personal network for communication. We will be using numerous mediums for these purposes such as fax, email, memos, telephone, letters, reports, newspaper tenders, representatives and presenters etc. Our initial communication cost will be 2,70,00tk and the monthly cost for communication will sum up to 15,000tk per month. Our machinery cost and the transportation cost will be 36,35,000tk. We have analyzed our forecasted sales for upcoming 5 years from 2011 till 2015. According to the market condition and our production rate we are expecting to increase our sales from 7,00,000tk in the first year to 28,00,000tk in the fifth year. Our forecasted sales is expected to increase over the five years time period. We have also prepared our pro forma income statement according to our production capacity, market demand and market price of the product. According to our analysis, we will incur losses in the first two years of our business but that will be closely followed by profit of 83,000tk in 2013, in 2014 a profit of 7,23,000tk and finally a profit of 11,43,000tk in the year 2015. Our break-even analysis predicts that our break-even unit of 105.43 tons can be reached by the 4 th year according to our forecasted sales. All these information are forecasted so there are possibilities of relative changes with changes in the overall economic condition of the country and our future business conditions. We have also conducted SWOT analysis for our company EnvYcle. Our strength is little competition, cheap raw materials, advanced technologies and the weaknesses are inadequate awareness etc. We may have opportunities of diversifying into new plastic processes, grab the market, collaborating with City-corporation and threat can be new competitors or

stopping the use of plastic by people. Our concluding idea is the 4Rs- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Respect. We want to reduce the production of plastic through reusing the existing plastic and recycling them for future use and thus respecting the entire human kind which serves our actual purpose of contributing to the nation besides increasing profitability. We have done online research works, taken personal interviews with people associated with this business in our country and have also done the market analysis for our product in order to have idea about our future sales and income. The overall analysis has given us proper ideas about the position and future possibilities of our new company in the plastic recycling business.
