peripheral neuropathy; superinfection; disulfiram-type reaction with alcohol

Be sure to teach the patient the following about this medication
Complete medication therapy. Patients treated for trichomoniasis sould use a
condom to prevent reinfection. Avoid alcohol products. Good oral hygiene and
sugarless gum or candy to reduce dry mouth. Urine may turn dark. Report signs
of black, furry overgrowth on tongue; vaginal itching or discharge; loose or
foul-smelling stools.
