know what it i s, or do you know more regarding any of these codes? tell me! This list is the codes that would appear on your truck. Some codes were changed and became different things through the years and when known, that is noted. Som e codes are known to have more then one meaning but the change date is unknown, and in that instance the codes are listed twice in red. Not a truck specific code. mcode 362 = North American export model with 020, 024, 025, 090, 176 and 620 (S ingle and Double cab - 1959 and up) In order from list to the left: (Mph speedo, sealed beam headlights, lap belts and US bumpers, Laminated windshield, bumper overriders , 12volt system) mcode 390 = Uknown so far has been seen on 60- and 61 trucks. not a country spec ific code, but may be a general import code of some kind. mcode 396 = Complies with English market regulations (With amber indicator segme nts and RHD) mcode 425 = Seatbelt mounting points fitted, *Includes seatbelts* mcode 428 = Unknown, but has only appeared on trucks mcode 513 = protective skids for area above gearbox mcode 525 = Seat belts (USA and Canada only) mcode 531 = Harder suspension for rear mcode 535 = Tachometer made by Moto Meter mcode 542 = Special equipment for German army mcode 544 =KW 544; KW means "Kundendienstwerkstatt", (i.e. "service room", special place for conversions mad e by Volkswagen itself). What kind of conversion is still unknown. ( claims that this is a code for 58 and 59 Double cab's only. To specify for VW to cutdown single cab side gates to fit the DC. I strongly disagree as most 58s and 59s *dont* have this mcode but still have the same shortened gates. Also man y 58-60 panels and kombis have m-code 544 as well. I have yet to find a 58-60 T ruck that has 544 besides jerrys 1960.)
