Management of Innovations- HCL Technologies

Project Proposal
HCL is a $5.7 billion leading global technology and IT enterprise comprising two companies listed in India - HCL Technologies and HCL Info systems, working with clients in the areas that impact and redefine the core of their businesses. Founded in 1976, HCL is one of India's original IT garage start-ups. A pioneer of modern computing, HCL is a global transformational enterprise today. Its range of offerings includes product engineering, custom & package applications, BPO, IT infrastructure services, IT hardware, systems integration, and distribution of information and communications technology (ICT) products across a wide range of focused industry verticals. The HCL team consists of over 79,000 professionals of diverse nationalities, who operate from 31 countries including over 500 points of presence in India. HCL has partnerships with several leading Global 1000 firms, including leading IT and technology firms. India has been increasingly looked towards for providing strategic innovation needed in serving not only the local consumers but also the global needs. Mahindra, Tata, HCL : these are among the most innovative companies in India, says `innovation guru' Robert B Tucker. HCL Technologies Ltd. (HCL), a leading global IT services provider, today announced that it has been conferred with the prestigious Golden Peacock Innovation Award for its MTaaS (a Business Service Management centric service delivery platform) offering in the IT Sector category. The manner in which HCL retains its employees: "They have an employee-first, customer-second strategy, which is very unconventional. The senior management deals with all customers. It is a radically different strategy." Innovation, in the Indian industry, is still process-driven rather than product-driven. Over the years Indians have becoming more aware of their personal intellectual capital in a global context, and connectivity is providing insight into the markets with buying powers in turn making Indians an irresistible choice for companies hungry for brainpower. The pace at which the knowledge economy is growing, however, clearly indicates that a certain percentage (which accounts for quite a volume) is moving to the next orbit and becoming hard core innovators. Not to forget a Jugaad mindset which has produced millions of innovations in India over the years. With the market needs beyond Jugaad there comes the supply beyond Jugaad. HCL Technologies were amongst the 1st few companies to offer a low cost PC. The topics that will be covered under various departments like Marketing, finance , HR, etc are the innovation driven strategies used by HCL technologies to become the most innovative companies among the rest.
