Cervical Cancer/ Young Adults

Cervical Cancer is often attributed to the Human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV viruses are contracted through sexual contact. The HPV virus causes changes to the cells of the cervix. Without proper treatment these changes can lead to Cervical Cancer. The have been an estimate of new cases and deaths concerning cervical cancer. Just in the United States in the year of 2011, the new cases of cervical cancer estimated at 12,710. However, the deaths of cervical cancer is estimated at 4,290. Some peoples have said that, Cervical cancer starts at around the of 40 for women. This age group would be considered Middle-Aged Adults. Even though this is possible, this yet have been proven. Actually, cervical cancer can occur in Young Adults as well. In my opinion, it's not about a woman's age, it's about how well they are taking care of their bodies. Below is some information for women to better understand cervical cancer, and how to address this issue.

Cause and risk factors of cervical cancer:

* Lack of regular par smears * Weakened immune system due to HIV infection *Women who have had multiple sex partners *Extended use of birth control pills (5 or more years) *Smoking cigarettes *Immunosuppression *Infection with other sexually transmitted diseases

Prevention and Detection of Cervical Cancer

*Changing your lifestyle, and unhealthy habits *Avoid all things that is known to trigger cervical cancer *Taking medication to treat a per-cancerious condition *Avoid multiple sex partners, or practice abstinence *Always get a yearly pap smear *Stop or Don't Smoke Smoke Cigarettes

How cervical cancer affects the body

Cervical cancer can affect a womans body in several ways, such as: *Bleeding (Increased vaginal bleeding between monthly periods, in which is very noticeable, and not considered normal for that particular woman. *Uremia (This is a blockage in a person's kidney's. Also having cervical cancer can take an affect on a person's kidneys, causing Uremia *Pain (A woman can experience pain while engaging in sexual intercourse, or around the infected area. *Anemia (Cervical cancer can have an affect on a person's red blood cells, and the hemoglobin in their bodies.

Treatment Options For Cervical Cancer

There are some treatment options for cervical cancer. However, the treatment available can vary depending on the stage of the cancer, or other factors. Although, the options can include but not limited to: *Surgery *Chemotherapy *Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure *Conization *Cryosurgery

*Laser Surgery *Total Hysterectomy *Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy *Pelvic Exenteration *Radiation Therapy
