Summary
I am a writer, puppeteer and artist with 20 years of experience supporting Arts, Education, and Social Services organizations in Curriculum/Program Development, Grant Writing, Fundraising, and as an Art Instructor for children aged 2-7 years. I am also a Doctor of Comparative Mythology; my doctoral research culminated in a puppet show called Hero's Welcome for the children of wounded veterans using multicultural myths of the Wounded Hero for normalization and healing. I have several career goals: To develop puppet performances, curriculum, and childrens books utilizing multicultural mythology to address trauma and encourage conflict resolution; to publish articles and books researching the therapeutic benefits of comparative mythology and performance art; and to teach Mythological Traditions in higher education.

Editor and Research Assistant at The Miracle in July July 2009 - Present (2 years 2 months) I am the Lead Editor and Research Assistant for the online, interactive memoir The Miracle in July by author and Media Ecologist Michelle Anderson (a.k.a. MediaChick). In addition to editing the current online draft of MIJ, I am heading to Copenhagen, Denmark, in June to help Michelle gather media and research for the next exciting iterations of this genre-bending digital love-story. I have also been hired to edit the final manuscript of MIJ in preparation for submission to traditional publishing venues. Doctor of Mythological Studies at Pacifica Graduate Institute October 2007 - Present (3 years 11 months) I now officially have my PhD in Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology from Pacifica! My doctoral dissertation focused on how multicultural mythic narratives and artistic expression can be combined to offer a universal, healing perspective to children and parents recovering from trauma.

Not only is Jillian a longtime friend; her artwork is unique and gorgeous, and it will be my honor to turn the spotlight on HipNest and get her handmade and custom products the attention they deserve.
