Part of the Core team implementing and maintaining platform infrastructure based on HBase and Hadoop/HDFS, and providing backend for multiple services. Responsibilities include interpreting product manager requirements into technical descriptions and requirements Designed, developed and maintained small ORM-like framework for mapping complex object domain model into HBase tables (non JPA/JDO). Tool included simple query language defined in EBNF notation (using JavaCC), and simple secondary index mechanism that utilizes different HBase tables for storing reverse indices. Participated in design and development of SOAP and REST web services using Apache CXF framework. One of the challenges was to implement REST counterpart of the SOAP endpoints, without violating (to many) constraints and principles of REST. Implemented batch data processing system based on Hadoop, consisting of multiple different jobs and workflows, with different input and output formats. Designing, documenting, implementing, unit testing, debugging, maintaining, refactoring, and deprecating various software tools and applications, mostly using Java.

Designed and developed location aware (GPS) JavaME chat application based on XMPP/Jabber protocol, using Openfire server. The application was able to discover and initiate chat with friends in certain radius.
