who came to the singing. It was truly an encouraging night that we will not soon forget. Thank you for your kind words concerning the lesson on marriage last Sunday night. It is my prayer that tonights lesson is helpful to you, as well. Marriage is intended to be a glorious picture of the love Christ has for His Church. That being true, we must make our marriages a priority, and we must seek ways to build them up. The key to building up any marriage is really found in one step. If we love God (vertically) the right way, we can then bend that love outward (horizontally) to our spouse. One who loves God fully will have no problem showing agape [love] to his/her spouse. So we must remember, dont just work on your marriage. First, work on your relationship with God, and then your marriage will begin to improve.

TAKE ACTION
A preacher once made an investment in a large piece of ranch real estate which he hoped to enjoy during his retirement years. While he was still an active preacher, he would take one day off each week to go out to his land and work. But what a job! What he had bought, he soon realized, was several acres of weeds, gopher holes and run-down buildings. It was anything but attractive, but the preacher knew it had potential and he stuck with it. Every week hed go to his ranch, crank up his small tractor, and plow through the weeds with a vengeance. Then hed spend time doing repairs on the buildings. Hed mix cement, cut lumber, replace broken windows and work on the plumbing. It was hard work, but after several months the place began to take shape. Every time the preacher put his hand to some task, he would swell with pride. He knew his labor was finally paying off. When the project was completed, the preacher received a neighborly visit from a farmer who lived a few miles down the road. Farmer Brown took a long look at the preacher nodded his approval and said, Well, preacher, it looks like you and God really did some work here. The preacher, wiping the sweat from his face, answered, Its interesting you should say that, Mr. Brown, but Ive got to tell you something---you should have seen this place when God had it all to Himself.

Hello everyone, We have had a very good week at the Lebanon Road congregation! With the several responses to the Lord's invitation, it is hard not to feel blessed. I hope everyone will continue to pray for and encourage all of our brothers and sisters. The singing we hosted last Friday night was really great. With 212 in attendance the Friday night singers said it was one of the best attended evenings this year. Lebanon Road really came through on the finger foods as well! It doesn't matter if we are saying farewell to a youth intern, hosting a Friday night singing, helping a sister move homes, or hosting a devo, Lebanon Road does not disappoint! I want to thank the congregation for being alive and active. It is such a blessing to work here. A blessing that I think of daily! I would ask the youth to remember our devotional Sunday evening at the Witt home. Thank you very much! --JD :)
Congratulations
