The Supreme Council for Romania decided that on its 130th Anniversary all the locations of the Masonic

and profane events should have a historic resonance. Therefore, SCR is hosting all its guests in the Novotel Hotel. One may wonder what the history of that place is?! Well, in that place was founded the first National Theatre of Romania, led at that time by a Freemason. Even the building had the appearance of a Masonic Temple. Many years after it was destroyed, on the same spot was built todays hotel which kept the entrance facade of the former National Theater. The hotel is located on the main historical street of Bucharest, Victorys Path. In front of the hotel is another historical building for Romania, built in the same year as the Supreme Council for Romania.

The Supreme Council for Romania decided that the World Conference of Civilizations and welfare of the human family (main event destined to mark its 130th Anniversary) should be held in the most historical and emblematic building of Romania, located in the center of Bucharest. The location, for the enjoyment and delight of our international guests will remain a surprise until the day of the World Conference. This is just one of the many surprises brought to you by the Supreme Council for Romania and its Foundation with the occasion of the 130th anniversary celebrations since the year 1881, the founding year of the institutionalized Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in Romania.

I desire to establish a good foundation for Youth from all university faculties in the country, equipped with a library open to all.

The Supreme Council for Romania, founded in 1881 will mark through a Masonic Ceremony its 130 Anniversary in one of the most emblematic buildings of Bucharest, recently renovated to its old glory. The Continental Grand Hotel is contemporary with the beginnings of the Supreme Council and it was built by an important German architect and Freemason, Emil Rittern Forester. Continental Grand Hotel is located on Victorys Path, face to face with Novotel Hotel. The hotel also hosted the Supreme Councils 125s Anniversary.

Bucharest is the capital city, cultural, industrial, and financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country on the banks of the Dmbovi a River. Bucharest was first mentioned in documents as early as 1459. Its eclectic architecture is a mix of historical (neoclassical), interbellum (Bauhaus and Art Deco) and modern. First mentioned as "the Citadel of Bucharest" in 1459, it became a residence of the Romanian ruler Vlad III the Impaler, commonly known in the Western world as Count Dracula. Bucharest has a diverse and growing cultural scene, with cultural life exhibited in a number of various fields, including the visual arts, performing arts and nightlife. Unlike other parts of Romania, such as the Black Sea coast or Transylvania, Bucharest's cultural scene is much more eclectic, without a defined style, and instead incorporates various elements of Romanian and international culture. Bucharest has an eclectic mixture of elements from traditionally Romanian buildings to buildings that are influenced by French architects. It is because of this French influence that Bucharest was once called "the Paris of the East" or "Little Paris."
