Majority of the residents in Purok 3 are Males with 279(57%) while females 262(43%). Its advantageous to be benefited by both sides of the population. There is a balance of the roles males tend solely to the family while the females are out to provide for their monetary requirements. Sometimes, both would have other sources for their income in order to meet the needs of their family. The relationship between males and females are highly interdependent, and changes in one may influence the order. Females have also evolved in large part in order to adjust to the changes made by males.

ANALYSIS:

Based from our survey at Purok 3, Silverio Compound, the average size in the community was 3-9 members in the family. The majority of the residents at Purok 3 are single with 68% of the population, followed by married 21%, 6% are living in together, 4% are separated and 1% are widows. Single, widow, separated would find a hard time keeping up and lessen the expenses in the house and they can manage their time and money properly while married couples and live-in, on the other hand, have the potential for monetary support from their spouses or partners and have a big responsibility for their siblings in order to have a better quality of life. Parental stage is not an obligation but a lifetime responsibility for their partners and siblings. This community indicates that most of the residents prefer to be single rather to have partner because of poverty as based on the data that there are still live-in and separation happened among couples. Above all, whether married, single, widowed, live-in and separated one must be mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually fit in order to have happy lifestyle and well developed.

ANALYSIS:

Education is very important to civilization; it plays a significant role in the life of every individual. It is the way the individual or young are trained to take their placed in the world. Education is also said to be the key to success; it helps a person to find a better job that could provide and give benefits to support the needs of their family. Highest education attainment is the highest education finished by a person and key to be a competitive one. Based on the data that we have gathered from our survey at Purok 3, Silverio compound, majority are high school graduates with 26% of the surveyed and high school undergraduate with 67 persons followed by elemtary graduated (ongoing) with 95 person and elementary undergraduate with 48 persons. This indicates that community has moderate educational attainment but have a financial problem that most of them are not able to sent in college level. Still, this community has a low educational attainment competence compared with the people with higher educational background whom have better opportunities to find a better job and to improve a better quality of life.

ANALYSIS:

This data is about the occupational status of the families working at Silverio Compound Purok 3. The employed citizen of Silverio Compound was 41%. Some of them are educated, graduated from high school or college. The unemployed are 54% of the population, these were the ones that are a college graduate but have no job. This was also the number of women who choose to stay at home and live as a housewife. The remained percentage was 5% the number of self employed. They have their own businesses such as a sari-sari store, junkshop or computer shop.

ANALYSIS:

The data given above is the monthly income of every family of Silverio Compound Purok 3. The highest monthly income number ranges from 5,000-6,000. This was the head of the family who work as a construction worker, security guard, or has a business that can earn an income like a sari-sari store. Some of them are an extended type of family. A type of family who live with the same house with their grandparents or brother and sister. They either share each others income or combine their money to satisfy their needs. The 3.6% is an employed citizen of Silverio Compound that ranges from 15,000 & above, these are the type of families that could live decently than the others. Some of them are working fo a company, a call center agent and a sales assistant. They are the ones who studied and graduated with a degree.

The data above is about the perentage of different types of housing ownership. The most number of percentage is own which is 64%. Since most of them was living in Silverio Compund in many years. The second was 30% , the families who were renting. And the last was 6% hwo were living in free.

ANALYSIS:

In our survey at Purok 3, Silverio Compound. Almost 50% of construction materials they used are mixed which is semi-concrete. 36% are light materials and 19% are strong. 40% are clean 35% which are poor kind of sanitation and 25% are moderate. A home is important to all families, to provide shelter and safety from any kind of weather calamities. Therefore, we need to take care and be sure that our home is clean and presentable for us to be safe and became healthy member of the community.

The data shows that the average rooms of these familys houses had 3

rooms for sleeping. There are some families that had no (25%) room to sleep in which meant that all of the members just lay on the living room floor, which serves as their bedroom. Some had only 1 room (46%) where they are all congested in one room. While others have 2(16%) rooms to sleep in and the most rooms that a family had are 3(13%) rooms. It was observed that most of the residents in the community dont have enough living space because some of the families have their extended families living with them.

ANALYSIS:

Based on the survey that we gathered on Purok 3, Silverio Compound 87% used electricity and 12% used Kerosene or the so-called lamp. Most of these people uses gadgets, appliances etc., through the usage of electricity thats why most people use electricity. As we noticed electricity is necessary for all especially people who live in the city. Although some families cannot afford the expenses for electricity thats why they just use kerosene or other resources such as some families even use candle.

ANALYSIS:

Based on the data we gathered at Purok 3, Silverio Compound 57% uses individual water, which is good for drinking such as mineral water, and 43% used Municipality water for drinking such as NAWASA. We all know that the water we drink must be clean and good because if the water we drink is dirty we can have different types of diseases and the most common one is Diarrhea. So we must be sure that the water we used or drink must be clean from microorganism that will affect our health and the community.

ANALYSIS:

Based on the data we gathered almost 90% of the people at Purok 3, Silverio Compound put their drinking water on a jar with faucet because they want to make sure that the water is stored clean enough for their family to prevent diseases. The last 11% of people do not have storage but they drink their water from direct faucet probably due to the lack of funds for mineral water and pitchers or any storage for their drinking water.

ANALYSIS:

Based on the survey we conducted at Purok 3, Barangay Silverio ownership of water for household comes from 2 sources, which are Individual/Private, and from the delivery that comes from the Municipality. And most of the residence in the community gets their water from these 2 sources, that if ever there is no delivery of water coming from the municipality they have the option to get from some Individual/ Private source which they pay 3 peso per container or jar. In this case, a plus from families expenses everyday has been taken out just to have water to use in their everyday living.

ANALYSIS:

The source of water used by Purok 3, Barangay Silverio based on our survey comes from 2 major sources, which are Groundwater and Surface water. Groundwater refers to any subsurface water that occurs beneath the water table in soil and other geologic forms such as rain. Surface water refers to water occurring in lakes, rivers, streams or other fresh water and in reservoir constructed by humans. According to our survey, almost 71% of the community at Purok 3 gets their water used for household from surface water and only 29% uses groundwater. Based on this, majority of the families used surface water to lessen their expenses and lessen their work, because a river is only a walk away from their houses so it is easy to get water from there than to get water from some deep well.

ANALYSIS:

When we conducted the survey at Purok 3, Barangay Silverio, we asked some families on where they store the water used for household. Some uses container, jars or can to store their water and these is about 75% of the families we surveyed. And only a few of about 18% directly get their water not using any containers or jars. Based on these, a large of number of families in the community uses container to store water they use, but the question here is, do this containers clean and will not contaminate the water they will be using? Based on our observation, the containers they used to store water are not that clean. And are not in good condition. Some, uses cans that are contaminated with rust iron that is very prone to contaminations. Others, stores water in a long period of time to minimize their work load on fetching water from some source away from their houses, but storing water from a long period of time only causes waterborne diseases such as dengue. Clean water also comes from clean storage to prevent contamination that causes diseases that can harm the health of the family as well as the community.

ANALYSIS:

A facility to dispose of liquid waste is known as the drainage system. It can be classified as open or blind. Most of the people have open drainage (72%), 18% of blind drainage and 10% doesnt have at all. Open drainage is commonly used, maybe because of insufficient funds from the government or most likely because of financial shortage from the people living in certain area. It is important to know & understand that each house must have a proper drainage system to reduce the likelihood for floods & diseases associated with open drainages. Sustainable drainage system may also protect & enhance the ground water quality.

ANALYSIS:

Almost all of the respondents are using gas stove as their kitchen facility (62%), 35% of fire/wood and 3% are using electric stove. Gas stove are commonly used because it is less expensive than using an electric stove. It is important to know and understand that each house must have a proper kitchen facility to reduce the likelihood for burns associated with kitchen facility.

Analysis

The condition of the facility used in the kitchen can be classified as poor, moderate and good. Most of the people have their kitchen facility in a good condition (41%), 30% have moderate condition and 29% of the people are using their kitchen facility in a poor condition. It is noticeable that the distribution of poor and moderate condition of the kitchen facility doesnt have much difference with the good condition. Half of the people from this area kept their kitchen facility in a good condition because they are aware of what will it bring to their family if their kitchen facility is in poor condition. It is importance to understand the importance of the condition of the kitchen facility used for cooking to reduce the likelihood of acquiring diseases associated with the condition of the kitchen facility used.

ANALYSIS:

Almost all of the respondents have open container for their garbage and it accounts for 82%, the other 15% accounts the covered containers for garbage. People from this area prefer to use an open container for their waste, possibly due to the lack of knowledge about why they must use a covered container. This means that the people from this area dont know how & where to put their waste products. Waste products are considered as dirty or contaminated so everyone must dispose them properly.

ANALYSIS:

Selection of the type of garbage disposal should be based on quality and performance. 73% of the respondents said that their garbage are being collected by trucks, 18% uses open dumping for their garbage disposal, and 8% of the garbage are being disposed in other way or method. Almost all of the respondents preferred to use garbage collection maybe because it is the easiest way to dispose their waste. Also, the people in the community should be educated on proper waste disposal so that they can create a clean and sanitary environment.

Based on the data that we gathered at Purok 3, Silverio compound, 87% of them open pit privy, 11% used other type of toilet such as closed pit privy and 2% in the community especially those young children throw their stool direct on the river or they throw it anywhere. As we all know one way of being clean and being healthy in the community and also in the family is by having a clean sanitation. It includes Kitchen, Surroundings, Home, Toilets etc... If one of this is dirty, we cannot assure our family is safe from any kind of disease or infection. Therefore, we need to sure that we have clean sanitation to be free from any disease.

ANALYSIS:

This data shows that the most of the respondents domesticate animals are 27% are said to be dogs, 20% are cats, 22% are chicken and 6% are different types of animals or pet. Majority of the animals that are kept are dogs possibly to guard their houses as well. Humans have brought these populations under their care for a wide range of reason to produce food are valuable commodities such as trade ins for different types of products or they sell these animals for money and to for assistance with various types of work.
