WeawaittheseparateemailasmentionedbelowgivingcomplianceonthelasttechnicalqueryaddressedbyNPCCfortwotags. ABB reply : We have offered a suitable alternative that stays within acceptable standards and which is extremely cost effective, since Orifice flanges to ANSI B16.36 are not available with threaded connections. Hence it is therefore not possible for ABB to supply them while in conformance to that standard. Moreover in our recommendation its better not to use any threaded flanges with tappings in them.... the reason being that client may block the tapping hole when screwing in the pipe to the flange and which will have impaired readings resulting in gross measurement errors. The best solution that we propose and have considered accordingly in our proposal is that we offer a carrier ring and client only provide a galvanised back-up flange at time of final installation.
