Taking a walk through nature is not only refreshing and energizing, it can also be a magickal and healing experience when you walk among the trees. In the early years of mankind, trees were regarded as special beings, no doubt because of their size and majesty. Apart from being the home of animals and birds, trees embody a spirit and, even today, some folks leave offerings to that spiritual presence. In India, most local shrines are constructed under trees. Native American and European Shamans believe that trees possess curative powers. Different trees are said to have particular magickal and medicinal properties. In these pages you will find a list of trees and the healing qualities that they are said to possess, along with a few uses for them in tree magick. - Don Mcleod

Its groves were considered so magickal that priests, priestesses, and artisans sat among the trees to gain eloquence, inspiration, skills, and prophecies. Yew: The berries of this tree are poisonous. It is sacred to the Winter Solstice and the deities of death and rebirth. The Irish used it to make dagger handles and bows.

Recently was introduced to this term due to a member with some issues they try to live their path and follow it in a positive dedicated manner.. but seemed dark cloud was lingering around them..what this cause to be known is a family member(mom) who didnt agree with this persons path altho this person is good as gold ,positive attitude, and helped and guided many.. the mom never gave chance in seeing this as most do when they deal with hypocritical people. so with her bible in hand would condemn this person for her chosen path ..and anything that went wrong she would blame her Pagan/Wiccan beleifs.

this family member disagreed so much on this chosen path..that she despised and rezinted her daughters path so much she wished bad..by all the negative thoughts and wanting so much to prove her daughter was evil and follwing the devils path. (i understand not believing in devil for some.this coming from 100% Christian aspect of this mom) .

even when her mom would call were condemning comments toward her and her path as if she was possesed and was trying to make daughter believe and see this..

so Mom had this on her mind so much and so often in trying to prove her wrong in her choice of path ..it became "WISHCRAFT" which can be effective after awhile if you dont sheild your self.

trying to explain your path ,cause and reason to some of these people will never never change.. when you have tried to explain several times and they dont know you as a daughter who shows love and guides others for positive manner. this mom as others should know their child and the love they hold.

too just assume they are evil for their path without even listening to reason or explanation is totally self rightous, arrogant, judgemental.

dont take on this reflection of this person ever ..they will use up all your energys by you defending yourself. after you explaining a dozen times..stop..learn to tell them you follow yours i follow mine..I am an adult and this path i wish to follow ..keep your end positive cause that is who you are..dont let their reflection of arrogance effect you ..to make you mad in defending what you believe in..

anyone would get aggravated after so long of 3rd degree drilling and would appear hostile and yet this MOM would say see ..see your mad ..your evil lol..so dont fall into that abyss of simple thinking minds..

cleanse your surroundings, smudge, and keep shielded when talking to your Mom or family member who is very disagreeable..and dont fall into a deep convo after dozen times..some call to do this everytime. laugh and say you have yours I have mine ..so how was your day..anytime they try to bring it up change the subject with a little laugh.. or "I hear ya" my fav lol

dont keep falling into an argument over something you believe in ..dont use up that energy..family ,mom or not, they have to be the one to except and if they love you truly without judging but by knowing..they will stop and meet you half way. they dont have to totaly agree with your path ..they just dont understand we all were raised with nothing but hell and brimstone and Pagans do blood sacrifices.. but many are learning these days the truth in all this and see who is who and what really is for those judging people of another religion which in most cases yes are hard core Christian.

The Many Uses Of Basil

By

Shari

The uses of basil are many and varied. Most of its claims have been verified scientifically, while others remain in the borderline of scepticism and disbelief. The general uses for which it is prescribed as a home remedy ranges from the common cough and cold to blood-pressure symptoms and even paralysis and hemiplegia. I give below some of the more common ailments and their treatment with the use of basil alone or in combination with other herbs.

Acidity: Grind equal amounts of the dried blossoms of basil, bark of the Neem (Margosa) tree, and black pepper into a homogenous mixture. Take a level teaspoonful of this powder morning and evening with a draft of water, but do not drink milk immediately after. The acidity will be removed from the body with the sweat and urine.

Blood pressure: The drinking of basil-leaf tea keeps the blood pressure even.

Cataract: Mix a little honey with the juice of the basil leaves and apply over the eyes every morning and evening. Fresh cases are dissolved without surgery, while chronic ones are rendered "ripe" so as to be surgically removed.

Colds & Cough: Make a fine powder of the following: --Basil leaves (dried in shade) 300 gms --Cinnamon 50 gms --Bey leaf 100 gms --Aniseeds (fennel) 200 gms --Cardamom 200 gms --Red sandal-wood 200 gms --Dried orange-peel 25 gms Take two teaspoonfuls of this mixture and boil it with about 500 ml water till half the quantity of water is left. Add honey (and milk if preferred) and drink it like tea twice a day.

Epilepsy: Massage the body daily with the juice of basil leaves (a massage oil may be made with a mineral oil base and the essential oil of basil). Make a habit of smelling the blossoms of basil (essential oil of the blossoms) kept in a handkerchief; also grow a basil plant somewhere near the bedroom. During loss of consciousness during an attack, grind 11 leaves of basil, add a pinch of salt to it and instill a few drops of this juice in the nostrils of the patient.

Flatulence: Mix together 10 gms of basil juice, 10 gms of dry ginger and 20 gms of jaggery (raw sugar); make small tablets/pills/capsules from this mixture. Take a pill/capsule swallowed with a little water three times a day. It is advisable to either fast or to eat only easily digestible foods during the period of the treatment.

Female disorders: Basil juice is a good tonic for women and its regular use keeps them free from the disorders of the female generative organs.

Fever/Flu: Boil about 10 gms of basil leaves in 250 ml water till the water is reduced to 125 ml, then add a little rock salt to taste. This tea produces immediate sweating and relieves the fever. An option is to drink tea made of basil leaves, black pepper, and candy sugar.

Hoarseness: Add a little honey to the juice of 10 basil leaves and lick slowly. A spoonful is sufficient to restore the voice.

Hair loss: Massage the scalp evenly with the oil of basil and after an hour or so wash the hair with cold water. Good for dandruff too. Heart ailments: As basil has a positive effect over blood pressure and also a de-toxicant, its regular use prevents heart attacks. A tonic may be prepared by mixing 1 gm of dry basil leaves with a spoonful of butter and some candy sugar or honey. Take twice a day; first thing in the morning and before going to bed at night. The wearing of a garland of basil stalks is said to prevent heart attacks. It was common to see Englishmen wearing these necklaces during the 19th century in India.

Hysteria: Smell the crushed leaves of basil and drink the juice of five basil leaves.

Indigestion: Crush a few basil leaves with a little rock salt and swallow with a little water. Drinking the tea made of dried basil leaves also gives quick relief by inducing sweating and urination.

Insomnia: The best solution to this tricky problem is to place a few leaves of basil inside the pillow; a specific number of 51 is prescribed, with 50 being placed inside the pillow case and the 51st being chewed upon by the patient. Basil leaves may also be placed around the corners and head of the bed under the bed sheet.

Itching: Massage the itching areas with the juice of basil leaves. In chronic cases, make a massage oil by mixing two parts of basil juice with one part of sesame/mineral oil and warming over a water bath; cool and store in a bottle. Use this oil for itches of any type for local relief. For a permanent cure, see a qualified Homoeopathic physician.

Jaundice: Add two teaspoons of basil juice to 50ml of radish juice; sweeten with a little jaggery (raw sugar). Drink this juice twice or three times a day for a month for total relief.

Kidney ailments: Basil juice is unparalleled in the treatment of all sorts of kidney troubles. Soak overnight about 5-7 gms (one teaspoonful) of Basil seeds in water; next morning grind the seeds with candy sugar and drink the combination. Copious micturition will be induced and soon the congestion will be relieved and infection (if any) will be removed.

Leucoderma (vitiligo): (a) To a little basil juice add a few drops of lime-juice and apply on the affected area. (b) Grind 10gms of basil leaves with a clove of garlic and apply the paste on the affected area daily for 10 days. It is also advised to chew 5 basil leaves every morning, afternoon, and evening or licking a mixture of basil juice and honey in addition to the local application.

Lethargy: The tea made from dried basil leaves is an instant pick-me-up and drunk regularly, keeps one free from colds and other ailments associated with phlegm in the body.

Male sexual problems: The regular consumption of basil leaves maintains an even blood pressure and keeps a mans urges well within control, making him neither lecherous nor impotent. Venereal diseases are said to be cured with the use of basil juice in combination with cardamom and yogurt drink. Further, the stalk of the basil plant worn around the waist prevents lower-back pain and maintains sexual health.

Migraine: Dry some basil blossoms in the shade and grind to a fine powder; mix two grams of the powder with a dessert-spoonful of honey and lick it slowly. A second dose, if needed, may be taken in the evening. An excellent remedy, when others have failed (AKN)!

Malaria: Grind 1gm of black pepper in 10 gms of basil juice and administer at two hour intervals for 5 to six days. In addition give the patient basil tea. The fever along with the malarial symptoms will be totally relieved in a couple of days. This treatment should be effective in Dengue too (AKN).

Nose-bleeding (epistaxis): Keep some basil blossoms with you and smell them every now and again. In chronic cases, a drop of the essence of basil blossom put in the handkerchief and smelt at intervals cures the problem almost totally. Drinking basil juice with honey is also recommended.

Paralysis/hemiplegia : Massage the affected limbs with the oil of basil or boil a few leaves of basil in 200ml of water; when cool, strain and use this water for massage. The internal intake of the juice is also recommended. Pneumonia: Rub the oil of basil on the chest of the patient and give internally the juice of 5 leaves of basil mixed with a little ground black pepper at six hourly intervals. This will induce sweating and relieve the patient.

Skin: Basil leaves juice is an astringent and excellent tonic for the skin. Sluggish liver: Grind the following into a homogenous powder: Basil leaves 5 nos; Cummin seeds (roasted)2 gms; Rock salt (black)2 gms. To this mixture add an equal amount of the kernel of wood-apple and then combine the whole with 100 gms of yogurt and eat it with a meal or by itself. For most digestive disorders, a spoonful of a mixture of basil juice and ginger juice gives prompt relief. Stones (bladder): Make the patient sit on a steam bath prepared with about 100 gms of basil blossoms to a liter of water. Continue treatment daily for a week. Depending on the size and nature of the calculii, they should dissolve and be flushed out with the urine.

Snake-bite: (1) Grind 5 gms each of basil leaves and black pepper; instill a drop of this in each nostril of the victim. (2) Grind the root of the basil plant in a little butter and apply on the bitten part. (3) Administer a spoonful of basil juice internally every hour.

T.B.: Grind 5 gms each of basil leaves and black pepper and mix with a spoon of honey. The patient should take this twice daily for about two months. In the winter, a little ginger juice and a pinch of salt may also be added. Externally, a mixture of basil and ginger juice may be rubbed over the chest. Urinary troubles: Soak overnight about a teaspoonful of basil seeds in water and in the morning grind them with a little candy sugar and drink in two doses--morning and afternoon. A weeks treatment should clear up all symptoms. Whooping cough: Grind together equal amounts of basil leaves and black pepper and add a little honey so as to have a consistency to make small tablets. These tablets, sucked slowly, should be taken four times a day. In the case of dry cough, take a mixture of equal amounts of the juices of basil seeds, ginger and onion. In the case of loose cough, add candy sugar. References Culpepers Complete Herbal, and English Physician. Leicester: Magna Books, 1992.

The Book of Aquarius

By Lady of the Woods 1. The Book of Aquarius

The purpose of this book is to release one particular secret, which has been kept hidden for the last 12,000 years. The Philosophers' Stone, Elixir of Life, Fountain of Youth, Ambrosia, Soma, Amrita, Nectar of Immortality. These are different names for the same thing. Throughout history this secret has been used by a very few to extend their lives hundreds of years in perfect health, with access to unlimited wealth, among many other miraculous properties. Some kept the secret because they understood that the time was not right for the secret to be free for all people, but most kept the secret out of their own jealousy, ignorance, egotism and corruption. The Stone's history and the history of the human race up until this day is a strange story full of secret societies, hooded cloaks, and mystical symbols. Such theatrics are childish and shallow. It's pointless to look for the light in the shadows. The Philosophers' Stone operates and is made by entirely natural and scientific means. Truth is always simple, beautiful and easy to understand. The Philosophers' Stone is real; you can make it at home. The Stone makes old people young, heals all forms of sickness and disease, extends your life, turns any metal into gold, and more, as you will learn. This isn't a myth or a metaphor, it's a fact. Don't judge this book before you've read it. This is not one of those airy fairy books written in all kinds of mystical language, filling pages with words that makes sentences but not sense. This book will make more sense than anything you've ever read before. The age of secrets is over. I'm writing this book in common English. There's no need for mystical language or metaphor. This book contains no hidden meaning or codes; everything is stated plainly and directly, in the shortest and simplest of words necessary to convey the meaning.

Chapter 1 is the Introduction. Chapter 2 is the Foreword. Chapters 3 - 18 cover the theory of alchemy. Chapters 19 - 30 cover the practical instructions for making the Stone. Chapters 31 - 33 cover further information on the Stone. Chapters 34 - 49 cover the history of the Stone. Chapters 50 - 51 cover some more philosophical topics. Chapter 52 is the alchemists' prophecy. Chapter 53 is the Afterword. Chapter 54 is a request for your help in the distribution of this book. Chapter 55 is a list of answers to questions asked since initial release. Chapter 56 is the Bibliography. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't. by Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain)

The Golden Age Has Begun!

The Alchemical Revolution is Here! And It's Free!
By Jay Weidner

The sign of Aquarius is that of a person with a vase of water. For it is in the Age of Aquarius that the secret of alchemy and the magic water of the Elixir of Life are made known to the entire human race. This single act topples the powers that rule the world and re-creates society and culture.

Imagine a world where people live to be 400 years old, where you complete your education in your 80's and you don't have children until you are over a hundred years old? Imagine a world where you do not need to eat very much or work at all? Imagine a world with endless amounts of time and resources where people live in peace and harmony? It sounds wonderful doesn't it?

In cultures throughout the world there are myths, stories and legends that speak of a Golden Age of humanity when all of the above was actually occurring. The Bible also speaks of this age and of men who live to be 600 years old and even older. These myths and legends also tell us about a strange and fascinating science called Alchemy. Alchemy was the sacred art of transmutation practiced in many cultures from China to India to Egypt and Tibet and many others. The alchemical lore speaks of men and women in the past who magically created an Elixir of Life that allowed them to live for hundreds of years. These alchemists also created a powerful substance they called the Philosopher's Stone which gave them long life, mental clarity and spiritual enlightenment. As many of you know, I have been pursuing the truth behind alchemy for over 25 years. Like most of you, I began as a skeptic, questioning the validity of the stories I read about the Philosopher's Stone and Elixir of Life. But in reading the ancient alchemical texts I was struck by the intelligence of those who authored these odd and inexplicable books. In every case they appeared to be highly educated people who had a low tolerance for nonsense. The realization that the adepts who wrote the ancient texts on alchemy were not fools inspired me to go on with my research. Step by step, over the course of many years, I began to unlock the secrets of the Philosopher's Stone. As I delved deeper and deeper into the literature, I slowly began to realize that the extraordinary stories of the Elixir of Life and the Stone were true. I am releasing a new documentary film this fall called The Alchemy Code, which delves into the lore of the Stone, the metaphysical nature of reality and many other secrets from the alchemical tradition including how to make the Stone and the Elixir. It became clear to me that once upon a time in history all humans possessed the Stone and that it was intimately connected to the emergence of the fabled Golden Age. For once everyone had the Stone, there would be very little need for wars, greed, hunger or even death. When I discovered that the Stone was easy and cheap to make I decided that it was time to bring forth this knowledge As many people have lost their heads and more for releasing the information about how to create the Philosopher's Stone I was filled with great trepidation as I made the rounds on radio, TV and the Internet to spread the word about how to make the Stone. Also I hid one of the easiest methods for making the Stone in these discussions because I thought that some would find the information distasteful.

Another factor that was, and is, causing me great concern is the Internet kill switch. It is apparent that the Internet is going to be completely controlled very soon so it was incumbent for me, or someone, to release the information covering the proper way to make the Philosopher's Stone as soon as possible. Theoretically as the knowledge of how to make the Stone spread through out the population of the Earth via the Internet the Golden Age would eventually emerge. If the past is a guide to the present then the powers that be have never been in favor of the release of this information. Usually releasing the information on alchemy and the Philosopher's Stone is a good way to discover what it is like to be burned at the stake. But there is a God and luck was on my side. And now luck in on your side. Why do I say this? Because a special someone has released a very well written book that contains a correct description of how to make the Philosopher's Stone and the Elixir of Life. The book is called The Book of Aquarius. Based on my quarter century study of alchemy the anonymous author of The Book of Aquarius is absolutely correct in what he is transmitting. But better than all of this is the fact that the anonymous author has decided - wisely - to give the book away for Free! Yes you heard me. The secret of alchemy has been properly released on the Internet and it is free. You can find the book here: http://bookofaquarius.forgottenbooks.org/ I read the entire book in 3 hours. It is very well written and researched. As many of you know, alchemical texts can be exceedingly obscure and almost impossible to comprehend. Yet in my opinion, this book is the easiest book to read and understand that I have ever encountered on the subject of alchemy. It clearly teaches the student the proper methods for creating the Philosopher's Stone. The total cost of all the equipment needed is less than $1000.00 and an enterprising person could do it for far cheaper.

From my perspective, this is the most important book ever written. "Anonymous" has given all of us a great gift. This treasure offers us the potential to transform not only our bodies and minds, but also transmute this current Age of Iron, this age of pain and deception, greed and terror into the Golden Age of truth, beauty harmony and bliss. Once everyone on Earth has the Stone we can become who we really are and free ourselves of the trap of the phantasm of modernity and the toxic threat that it has created. Download the book now. Print it out in case the Internet kill switch is pushed. Send the link to your friends and family, even if they are skeptical of its claims. Once the secret is released the powers that be can do nothing to bottle it up again. For those who want to hold rigid to the status quo, this is potentially the most dangerous book ever written. For it is true and it's simple magic can change everything. This is the golden dawning of the Age of Aquarius.

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375. Cut the squash in half, remove seeds and compost them. Also, roughly chop up the carrot, parsnip, onion & celery (feel free to prepare the root veggies from our next recipe at this time to save on energy!).

Fill a 9X13 glass cake pan with approximately 1 inch water and place the olive oil and place on a flat cookie sheet in a single layer. Put both squash and veggies in the oven to bake. This could take 45 the veggies, yada yada.

Keep an eye on the veggies to make sure they dont burn but you want the squash skin to brown. Once the squash is soft, remove from the the flesh out of the shells (but not cold!) & put them into a food processor. I prefer to process the squash first until very pureed, and then add veggies and do the same thing. Add the milk, salt, pepper, cayenne at this time. If you did like I did and let the squash & veggies get TOO cold you can reheat this on the stove or in the microwave. Very Vegan pot pie an adapted recipe from http://www.veganlunchbox.com/ Note: You may want to just make extra veggies I ate half of them before I even made the dough, they were THAT good. Another note, I call this Very Vegan because when I made this recipe the first time, I put an M on one of the pies to mark the pie that belonged to my significant other (his name starts with an M). However, in the morning when he got up to go to work, he took the unmarked pie. I sent him a text and said Why did you leave with a letter on it. He replied I thought it was two Vs. I was confused. I sent another reply, Why Vs? and his reply was Very Vegan. the M pie?! I thought perhaps he would be embarrassed to eat a pie

Ingredients: For the filling: 1 cup diced carrots cup parsnips or golden beet 2 cups peeled and diced potatoes 1 sage leave finely chopped 4 sprigs fresh thyme tsp salt 2-3 TBSP extra virgin olive oil 1 chicken flavored bouillon cube + cup flour 3+ cups water 2 tsp tamari 1 cup (approximately) of frozen mixed veggies, thawed For the crust: 2 cups all purpose flour 1 cup barley flour (I used rice flour because barley wasnt available; this will change the consistency some) tsp baking soda tsp salt 1 tsp poppy seeds (I didnt have these either and replaced them with 2 tsp flax seeds) cup canola oil, chilled in the freezer for at least 30 minutes (I used vegetable oil) cup of ice water 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar Instructions: If you didnt cook the root veggies with the above recipe, preheat the oven to 425. Place the veggies (not the frozen!!), garlic, sage & thyme on a cookie sheet, drizzle with oil 2 garlic cloves whole and unpeeled

and mix well, flatten to a single layer. Roast for 25-30 minutes or until tender. Stir occasionally. When done, remove from oven and allow to cool a little.

When the veggies are cool, remove and discard thyme (into the

compost!) and squeeze the garlic out of its skin, place the skin in the compost and mash the bulb up then mix well with the roasted and thawed veggies. Add just enough gravy to coat the veggies and set aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine all dry crust ingredients and whisk together. Drizzle in the canola oil and mix with your hands until incorporated and forming M&M size balls or slightly larger. Mix the ice water and vinegar together, then drizzle into flour, continue to mix with your fingers until it holds together. Flour the surface youll be working on and knead the dough onto it a couple minutes. Divide into 2 pieces (making sure to wrap up the one youre not using with plastic wrap). This is where you get to decide how you want to make this pie. You can use this as pie crust (both top & bottom) and make one big pie. Or you can make small pies by cutting out circles (I used a 6+ inch bowl as a cookie cutter). Put a tablespoon or two on the bottom piece of dough and then place the top one over top make sure to seal the edges!!!!! Then bake at 275 until browned about 30 minutes for the big pie, 20 for the small one.
Apple Carrot Bread Taken from Bread Machine Baking for All Seasons Connie Merydith. Serve this with homemade apple butter (maybe Ill include the recipe for that next time!) or peanut butter & honey or just plain margarine! Ingredients:

1 cup milk (I used almond or rice milk) cup applesauce 1 TBSP canola oil

2 cups whole wheat flour 2 cups unbleached flour 1 tsp salt cup sugar (use raw sugar) 1 tsp cinnamon

cup grated carrot (I just tossed it in the mini food processor to safe my skin from the mean grater!) 2 tsp (or 1 package) dry yeast (if, like me youre using bread machine yeast, follow the instructions on the package)

Instructions: Measure the milk, applesauce, and oil into the bread pan. Add the whole wheat flour, unbleached flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and grated carrot. Make a well in the dry ingredients and measure in the yeast. Select the basic whole wheat bread cycle for a 2-pound loaf. Baking time will be about 50 minutes. Ten Top Tips for Avoiding the Flu
1. Wash your hands. (Rub briskly under hot running water for at least 30 seconds.) 2. Don't use antibacterial soaps. (They encourage the growth of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.) 3. Drink lots of fluids. (Especially hot herbal antibacterial teas such as sage, thyme, rosemary.) 4. Start your day with a cup of cool yogurt or hot miso soup. (Both encourage strong immunity.) 5. Make nourishing soups with the immune-enhancing roots astragalus and eleutherococcus.* 6. Spray your nasal passages with a saline solution or a xylitol rinse. (Kills viral particles.) 7. Be wary of diets that radically alter what you eat. (They tend to depress the immune system.) 8. Eat well-cooked leafy greens like kale, collards, and mustard greens. (Strengthens immunity.) 9. Add lots of arugula and watercress to your salad. (They're antiviral.) 10. Eat garlic. (Even powdered, even cooked.) Eat ginger. (Or drink it.)

If you do get the flu, elder berry (Sambucus nigra) tincture or syrup may shorten its stay. Green blessings Susun S. Weed

Lets Get Crafty....... Building A Witchy Harvest Wreath

By Harobred

Here in my realm nights are a bit cooler and some plants are winding down for the year, autum is right around the corner .Lammas is behind me and now my thoughts turn to Mabon and Samhain the last of the harvest celebations.Harvest wreaths are a lovely way to honor the season and your dieties, they bring to your home warmth, abundance and protection from all in the long winter nights to come. There are few rules when it comes to making these ,your style is your own. They can be stark or lush, ribboned if you like.I like to put pentacles ,dreamcatcher and such in the center of my wreaths I like the energy it brings with them and it lends a second dimenision to the spell I weave when making them.

Now wreaths can be made in the ancient way where everything is hand tied these are wonderful but a bit daunting for beginners. For those of you who want to make your this way its very rewarding but quite time consuming so bear that in mind if you make yours within a sacred circle. However if you dont have that kind of time or experience Im here to tell you there is no shame in using a glue gun ,I love mine! The one rule I as a hedge witch hold as most important is "Know Your Materials".Before you start your wreath research the things you plan on using. You need to know what attributes and influences you are combining.Once you've done your homework (if you need notes make them!)gather your materials together notes included and get started.First decide if you want something in the center if you do that comes first. This time I chose a Septegram aka The Elven Star .I googled setegram images and found a simple image I could use for reference.I used a good size hemp twine to make my star with .I tied one end off and then wove the star.It may take a few tries because you want the spaces within the star to be the same size.Once that was done and tied off securely ,I came back and cinched the points of the star with Copper and added a quartz crystal to the center .So far Ive given this wreath the infuence of the septagram ,the hemp twine will invoke divination and the quartz will amplify all the different energies and send them out into the universe. Already this is a powerful ward for your home. Now I can turn my attention to adding other threads of influence to my work.I harvest all of my herbs and flowers from my garden so I had the luxery of plenty to pick from. Its best to start with the bigger things first and establish a base point from which your wreath can flow.I started with Oak Leaf Hydrangea blossoms Theyre big and make a lovely creamy ivory base that will blend all the many other things together .Hydrangea is great for protection, breaking hexes and invoking magic. If you want a full lush wreath dont skimp, more is better .

A lush wreath is multi -dimensional not flat so layer it on!After the Hydrangea came bundles of Lavender and Fern .I tucked into that Sorrel blooms,Bee Balm blossoms ,Lambs ear ,Artemesia, small pieces of contrted Hazel ,Trumpet vine seed pods and lots of wheat .I saved the top of the wreath until last and arranged the flowers and wheat to form a "Top knot" Pine cone. .There are Black Eyed Susans,Bee Balm,Lark Spur ,Catnip ,Rosemary ,again lots of wheat and a

All of these lovelies brought with them energies that celebrate the harvest ,honor the dieties

and bring prosperity and protectiom to my home. After everthing was finished I took bits of

blue Hydrangeas and tucked it in where there were holes that needed plumping out.You may I echoed that color by scattering small colorful bits through out the wreath. This way the

notice that although this is a colorful wreath the color is concentrated in the topknot and then wreath was lush and colorful and I conserved my resources so I could make more than one .

I wish you all luck with making your own my dears ,have fun!............ The septagram is a seven-pointed star, a symbol of synthesis and mystery due to its links with the number seven. In the Phylosophy of Equalization a seven-sided star can refer to the seven elements of the universe. In alchemy, a seven-sided star can refer to the seven planets which were known to ancient alchemists. A septegram's energy ivokes a whole list of thigs..........,Power, Personal Will, Determination, Prosperity, Justice, the Gate. Unconditional Love, Wisdom, Growth, Friendship, Healing. Knowledge, Intelligence, Creativity, Sexuality, Awakening. Harmony, Tranquility, Blessings, Love. Powers of Mind and Science, Balance, Dexterity. Devotion, Honesty, justice, Healing. Magick, Success, the Gaian Hypothesis.

Living with Spirit Bears: Great Bear Rainforest

By

Sunkat

You may have read about the Spirit Bears of the Great Bear Rainforest in Kermode Bears or in Pipeline Through Paradise both featured in the August 2011 National Geographic Magazine. These articles feature images by Paul Nicklen and were supported by imagery from an expedition to the Great Bear Rainforest September 2010 with the International League of Conservation Photographers. See what it takes to capture stunning imagery in this wild landscape with a behind the scenes footage and interview with Paul Nicklen here and an eyewitness account of this amazing ecosystem and the people and wildlife that call if home with photographer and conservationist Ian McAllister.

Q: What drew you to the Great Bear Rainforest? What is unique about it? I was fortunate to have been born in British Columbia and formative years included exploring the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island. Along the way I met local explorer/photographers like Mark Hobson and Adrian Dorst who were living out of zodiacs and documenting the wild beauty of the North pacific. The passion of these individuals, the contribution they were making to ancient forest protection and the lifestyle they pursued inspired me to forge a similar path. However, it was the brutal clearcut logging destruction of over 80% of Vancouver Islands old growth forests and the realization that the same logging companies were getting geared up to liquidate the rainforests of the BC north coast a place now know as the Great Bear Rainforest that really became the game changer. It was an amazing time to be part of such a significant conservation campaign but also a challenge to adequately document a coastal wilderness bigger than Switzerland while helping forge a science-based conservation design that would be supported by intransigent governments and timber companies. When I first saw the countless river valleys that formed the temperate rainforests of the BC north coast there was no turning back. Even today it feels like seeing the place for the first time it is so full of life and beauty and mystery. To find huge tracts of intact ancient forests broken only by wild rivers teeming with salmon, grizzly bears, wolves, whales and so much else. To know that First Nation communities are still living in their ancestral territories and still being provided for by the ocean. It deserves the best kind of protection that we can give, it does not deserve to be a door mat for oil companies.

Canada's Great Bear Rainforest is the largest intact stretch of ancient temperate rainforest left on the planet.

Q: How would the GBR and the coast of BC be affected if the Northern Gateway pipline and resulting megatanker traffic goes through? Over the last twenty years it has been inspiring to work alongside so many talented and dedicated environmentalists, First Nations, and citizens who have stood up for protecting this place. We managed to keep open net-cage salmon farms from expanding here, over 30% of the rainforest is now in various levels of protection, we bought out some trophy hunting licenses to help protect wildlife and First Nations are driving the conservation vision forward. There is plenty of work left to be done, but progress is being made. The idea of introducing super oil tankers, the noisiest vessels on the planet, to this fragile coast will displace acoustically sensitive marine mammals, such as humpback, Orca, and fin whales. Their ability to communicate and forage would become so compromised that they simply will not exist here. If a tanker disgorges its oil after slamming into any one of the countless reefs and islands along the proposed tanker route our coast would be finished. It would cause a cascading series of ecological collapses culminating in the ruin of coastal communities and economies. First Nations with over ten-thousand years of continuous occupation here simply have nowhere else to go. Their way of life would be so fundamentally altered that this pipeline proposal is being described by many as a form of cultural genocide. Q: If you could choose 5 words to describe the GBR what would they be? Culturally, ecologically, spiritually rich and profound.

Q The Spirit Bear clearly is a local treasure. Is it more than a valued anomaly? Does it have magical or shamanistic qualities? What role does it play in First Nation iconography? How do the First Nations protect this region? The Spirit bear is a worthy ambassador of the mystery and magnificence of this rainforest. Hidden from the outside for so long it has been forced to emerge as an icon to inspire people to protect its threatened coastal habitat. Conservation photography and film work is needed as much today as it was twenty years ago. Case in point. We are being contacted from people around the world who have just read Paul Nicklen and Bruce Barcotts feature story in the latest issue of National Geographic Magazine on the Spirit Bear and the Enbridge pipeline/tanker proposal. This is conservation journalism at its best because people are simply being shown what a globally unique and rare ecosystem this is and the potential threat it faces. It does not take people long to reach the conclusion that it is a bad idea to be transporting half a million barrels a day of the dirtiest oil in the world across the rocky mountains and the coast mountain range, over some of the worlds most productive salmon rivers and a coastline of rock strewn wave encased reefs where hurricane force wind events are common. We have every single oil company in the world (they are all invested in the Canadian tar sands) backed by a sympathetic and petro dollar blinded federal government lined up against the spirit bear, the majority of Canadians, and a long list of courageous First Nations. If I was an Enbridge shareholder I would be running the other way. In many respects this pipeline is a pipe dream but Canada wont wake up until more people make their voice heard.

Monarch of the rainforest Ian McAllister This grizzly bear is taking a break from fishing for chum salmon.

Q: What can readers do to get involved? It is deeply frustrating to see how few North Americans are aware that Canada has joined the planets elite roster of petro states. The far reach of the Canadian tar sands should be of greater international concern, more people need to look closely at Canadian energy policy and what extracting oil from the tar sands is doing to the health of the planet. Currently our national energy strategy is 100% about rapidly increasing tar sands oil production and selling it to the highest bidder and when a country owns the second largest known oil reserves in the world it cares less and less about international obligations or scrutiny. Does Canada really need to hook Asian economies on the dirtiest most environmentally harmful oil in the world at the expense of one of the last great coastal rainforests? Visit pacificwild.org. Contact us and we will help direct your support in the best way possible.

Grounding Our Thoughts

By

David

What is grounding? How does one acquire and maintain it during our daily lives? Most people are familiar with the term "grounding" when dealing with electricity. We will use the simple example of a lightning rod. The lightning rod is attached to the house in order to safely direct the flow of electricity when struck by lightning. So it would be safe to say that to ground energy, in this case in the form of electricity, would be to safely direct the flow of energy.

When we think of a grounded life, we think of the people who can, no matter the storms in their lives, live a balanced and happy life. They appear to not suffer from depression or fits of anger; they are the foundations of their families, the bedrock, and the calm in the crisis. Some people do all this naturally with hardly any realization of what it is they are doing, but they have practiced this for lifetimes. The rest of us, however, have to apply conscious observation and introspection.

One universal fact is that energy will move, and it will always choose the path of least resistance when not guided. The metal and size of the lightning rod will attract that lightning bolt; it is the best conductor, the path of least resistance.

Many people are not aware that thoughts, intentions, desires, and emotions are all forms of energy. We are constantly receiving and transmitting these forms of energy all around us. Your thoughts and emotions are not private. They can't be - we are all one. People are just not aware of it.

Conscious observation means that you are aware and are monitoring the energy. For example; If I am employing conscious observation of my thoughts then when those transmitted thoughts I receive cross my mind I do not automatically accept them as my own. I am aware that not every thought that passes into my mind is from me and because of this awareness I am constantly evaluating every thought as it crosses my view. I can identify my thoughts because I know myself. Most thoughts are harmless and because we all are learning the same lessons most of the thoughts you receive can be closely matched to your own life so it does not seem out of place. However there are those negative thoughts that find their way into our minds and many people suffer from self imposed guilt that such thoughts spring up. Just identify it as not your own and release it. If you choose to harbor the thoughts you then make them your own and then you begin to feed them, until they turn into something more. We charge them up with our energy and send them to our loved ones through our connections; so be aware of what you are putting energy into.

There is that word again; aware. Our goal is to reach a point where we can turn off our thoughts at will, to be able to seamlessly enter a state of meditation and awareness, where peace and love can recharge us; eventually living our days is this peaceful state of patience and unconditional love. Simply observe the thoughts that spring up, neutrally. You must master the mind, or you will be ruled by it.

Energy will take the path of least resistance so what kind of thoughts do you normally entertain? Do you constantly beat yourself up? Are your thoughts angry or confused most of the time? When life distracts you this is the path that the energy will take. The easiest way to change how you think is to be aware and guide your thoughts, replacing the negative with positive. In this way you are safely directing the flow of thought energy using conscious observation.

Monitoring and directing your thoughts is the first and most important aspect of living a grounded life, as they are connected intimately with the other forms of energy we experience. When I am distracted by emotional overload or confusion in my thoughts I am susceptible to allow the energy to freely move through me unmonitored, and guess what, that is right, it will take the path of least resistance. This happens to be for me anger. I am sure that anger as an energy conduit, has served me for several lifetimes, as easy as it used to come.

By employing conscious observation over my emotions, I can be aware when emotions are not my own, or I can manage where I want my energy to flow. If I start to feel sad I then trigger my mind to find out why I feel sad. If I have no discernable answer then I know that it is not from me, and I release it. If I do get an answer then I can choose to invest more energy into this conduit, by continuing to entertain sad thoughts, or change it by altering my perception by replacing the associated sad thoughts with positive ones, which in turn fuels a different emotional response.

In other words, by being aware of your thoughts and how you feel then you can put yourself ahead of your reaction. Every single time I ever lost my temper, there was a moment, even if only a fraction of a second, where I agreed with a thought in my mind that told me I was justified in losing my cool. I would be distracted by whatever circumstance at the moment and would not be aware of the thought before I was investing my energy into that perception, and by that time it is difficult to change the direction of the flow, because it feels good at the time. Once you can safely direct the flow of thought energy and employ it to ground your emotional reactions, you will not be ruled by your exterior environments, emotional pressures, or outdated thought patterns, and you will begin to truly manage your energy on a moment to moment level. I like to carry stones in my pocket; it is something I have done as a kid. I now understand why I carry them and I employ that awareness by putting them in my pocket. I like to take a favorite stone out and admire it, and rub it. Little did I know as a kid that it was the very act of loving those rocks that moved the energy into them. What do you enjoy doing? What hobbies do you entertain? Do you love plants and trees? Do you have favorites? Enjoying the small things in life is an ideal outlet for your thoughts and feelings.

Admire the beauty of nature, in this way you are putting your focus on universal love and the unconditional love that connects everything together as one. The love will fill you up and you will be inspired in the moment. This is the energy exchange that is occurring when we take a moment to watch that amazing sunset, and we always walk away from these encounters feeling better, and not even aware of why.

The energy flow is the same with children, relationships, animals, or even ideas. The more you love them the stronger they become, and the connection between you grows. Energy is constantly moving along these connections. If we could monitor the thoughts of you and your loved ones for a day, a thought will travel along these energy lines no matter the distance, it will jump from mind to mind, like a quantum nerve synapse.

When we allow our thoughts to go where they want and we allow our emotions to conquer our reason we are not safely managing this energy. The energy within can build up if we try to suppress it, until it reaches what I like to call an "overload limit", at which point explosions/implosions of uncontrolled energy in the form of negative thoughts and emotional outbursts normally happens, and people say or do things they normally regret later, or they sink into a depression, which is fueled with thoughts!

So to truly be able to be grounded in our daily lives we must first be aware and understand how the energy flows before we can begin to manage it. As with the lightning rod it took conscious observation to learn how the lightning can be directed and a conscious decision to put that rod on the house, it will take a conscious decision to manage the flow of energy through your mind and chakras.

To recap; Grounding can be determined as safely directing the flow of energy through conscious observation and introspection, constantly. Our thoughts and emotions are forms of manageable energy and by observing our thoughts and feelings; we can separate ourselves from old thought patterns, fears, emotional reactions, and exterior frustrations and limitations, freeing us to create the balanced life that we are searching for.

Owning our energy

By Rev Learn to keep your energy inside For many reasons, we may have mastered the art of giving away our energy. We may have learned it when we were young because the feelings we had were too overwhelming to feel, and we did not know how to process them. Much of our obsessing, our intense focus on others, is done to facilitate this "out of body" experience we call codependency. We obsess, we babble, we become anxious. We try to control, care take, and fuss over others. Our energy spills out of us on to whomever.

Davey Dunbar

Our energy is our energy. Our feelings, thoughts, issues, love, sexuality; our mental, physical, spiritual, sexual, creative, and emotional energy is ours. We can learn to have healthy boundaries - healthy parameters - around our energy and ourselves. We can learn to keep our energy within ourselves and deal with our issues. If we are trying to escape from our body, if our energy is spilling out of us in unhealthy ways, we can ask ourselves what is going on, what is hurting us, what we are avoiding, what we need to face, what we need to deal with. Then, we can do that. We can come back home to live - in ourselves.

What is a Spirit Guide

By Roze Mistdancer

Many people believe they have spirit guides. Some refer to theirs as angels or guardians. Regardless, if you believe you have one, a spirit guide is there simply to guide, not as an entity that you need to give yourself over to. If a spirit guide has a negative influence on your behavior, then chances are good that it's not a spirit guide at all, but something else entirely. These are some of the more commonly found types of spirit guides:

These are guides often found by people who do energy work, such as Reiki. A ascended master who appears as a spirit guide is often a being that led a physical life and has moved on to a higher spiritual plane -- for example, Buddha, Krishna, even Jesus. Ascended masters usually work with collective groups of souls -- in other words, if you've got an ascended master hanging around you, you're not the only one he or she is helping. Their primary focus is that of helping all of humanity. It's not uncommon for an ascended master to have access to Akashic records. Also referred to as Master Teacher guides.

An ancestral guide is one who can claim some sort of kinship with you, such as your dear Aunt Tillie who died when you were ten. It may also appear in the form of a long-dead ancestor. In some schools of thought, these entities are seen as reincarnated guides, because they are the spirits of someone who loved us during their physical lifetime, or who had some sort of blood connection to our family. Some people, depending on their religious upbringing, may see these types of guides as guardian angels.

A typical spirit guide is archetypical, symbolic or representative of something else. For example, you may find your guide appears in the form of a warrior, a storyteller, or a wise woman, and they have appeared to you for a purpose. Typically, that purpose is to teach you and guide you along a particular path. They may also introduce you to other archetypes along your journey, and help out with problem solving, based upon your needs. They are known to provide insight by way of dreams or meditation, and may only hang around as long as you need them, then move on.

Although many people claim to have animals as spirit guides, often these entities are more companions than anything else. It's not uncommon for a deceased pet to linger around, keeping you company through the grieving process. In some spiritual traditions, such as various Native American or shamanic paths, a person may have an animal totem, which provides teaching and/or protection.

A more complete list in case of earthquake

By Rev Davey Dunbar

After the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989 12,000 Bay Area residents found themselves displaced permanently or temporarily. Of those whose homes remained intact, many were temporarily without water, electricity and phone service. In order to prepare for another such disaster SF Gate has compiled a list of supplies the American Red Cross recommends you keep on hand. **** WATER | FOOD FIRST AID | TOOLS, SUPPLIES | SANITATION CLOTHES, BEDDING | DOCUMENTS

WATER Store water in plastic containers such as soft drink bottles. Avoid using containers that will decompose or break, such as milk cartons or glass bottles. A normally active person needs to drink at least two quarts of water each day. Hot environments and intense physical activity can double that amount. Children, nursing mothers, and ill people will need more. Store one gallon of water per person per day. Don't forget your pets. Keep at least a three-day supply of water per person (two quarts for drinking, two quarts for each person in your household for food preparation/sanitation). Change this water every six months. Household liquid bleach to kill microorganisms: Use only regular household liquid bleach that contains 5.25 percent sodium hypochlorite. Do not use scented bleaches, colorsafe bleaches or bleaches with added cleaners. Add 16 drops of bleach per gallon of water, stir and let stand for 30 minutes. If the water does not have a slight bleach odor, repeat the dosage and let stand another 15 minutes. The only agent used to treat water should be household liquid bleach. Other chemicals, such as iodine or water treatment products sold in camping or surplus stores that do not contain 5.25 percent sodium hypochlorite as the only active ingredient, are not recommended and should not be used.

Common methods used for fortune telling in Europe and the Americas include astromancy, horary astrology, pendulum reading, spirit board reading, tasseography (reading tea leaves in a cup), cartomancy (fortune telling with cards), tarot reading, crystallomancy (reading of a crystal sphere), and chiromancy (palmistry, reading of the palms). The last three have traditional associations in the popular mind with the Roma and Sinti people (often called "gypsies"). Another form of fortune-telling, sometimes called "reading" or "spiritual consultation", does not rely on specific devices or methods, but rather the practitioner gives the client advice and predictions which are said to have come from spirits or in visions.

How the Wolf Ritual Began Northwest Coastal

By Martin Stompingelk
A long time ago, a young woman of the tribe, with three companions, was walking outside the village. They were going to a place called Tomak'cluh to look for ah-et's'l, a small plant whose roots they use for food. During the journey a Wolf went trotting across their path, strong and sleek and scarcely noticing the girls. The young woman said: "How handsome he is! I wish my husband, when I marry, could be as strong and as fearless." At nighttime the women went to sleep, and the Wolf came in. (The Wolves know everything and read the minds of human creatures). The girl did not know that he had come, but the Wolf woke the sleeping girl, and told her he was going to take her with him. Opening her eyes, she saw a fine young man standing before her..... The young woman went with the Wolf to his home in the mountain, and was there a long time. Two sons were born who grew up to be half Wolf and half man. The old father of the girl, meanwhile, did not know where his daughter had gone, and was greatly troubled. At her home they tried everywhere to find her, looking in vain in all sorts of places, until they grieved for her as dead. In the Wolf country the oldest son, grown to be a man, asked his mother why he looked different from the people around him (the Wolves). The mother had told him that he came from another place, and that there, far from where the Wolves live, dwelt her own father. Then the son asked when she was going home, because he wished very much to see what it was like there. So the woman told her husband that their son would like to see his grandfather. He finally agreed, but before they went, as a gift to his wife, the Wolf began to teach the woman about the Klukwana [the wolf ritual], which they had there. It was the Chief of Wolves that the woman have married and all the wolves came to the Chief's house to have Klukwana. When she had learned all about it, the Wolves came to take her away to her own village. They brought her to her father's house at night, and waited behind the other houses, but did not come near. The woman went in to wake her father, and began talking to him of a daughter he had lost, though she kept hidden who she was. She said she herself had a Wolf husband, and that she had with her two sons. The woman also told her father many things about the Wolves, and that the villagers must not do anything when the Wolves howled, or try to harm them. Instead they must try to learn from them. The old father had been much grieved because his daughter was dead, but he did not know her because it was nighttime and she was much changed after so many years. But at last had revealed herself to him and told him that now she was going to have a "song" of her own as a sign that the Wolves had brought her back and by which he might know her again. The father gathered his people and told them of his daughter's return. They heard the wolves outside and began to beat on long boards and sticks. The wolves howled four times and departed. Then the woman taught her father all about Klukwana, and the secrets she had learned from the Wolves as to their power and strength. After she had taught him all the songs and all the dances, the father began the Klukwana and later taught the rest of the tribe all that his daughter had learned from the Wolves. living in the cosmic swirl, going round and round, singing my song, Dancing my dance...
