Second Grade Bible Presentation Ceremony

Sunday, September 18th, at noon in the Choir Room Each year, Mrs. Ritter and Mrs. Lees second grade class is presented with a Bible of their very own. This is the year we spend a lot of time teaching the children how to nd verses in our Bibles as well as read stories together about the Bible adventures. Kids love having Gods word to read that is made for their age level. Save the date for your family to attend!

Beautiful Babies Wanted...

October 2nd is our next Baby Dedication! If you would like to dedicate your child at one of our services, please let Stacy or the ofce know. Please let us know as soon as possible because we have a special handmade gift for each child and we need time to complete them.

Youth Group
Today, Jr. and Sr. High students will split up after worshiping together in The Commons and go to their respective classes in the Forum; 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, led by Jennifer Rice in the North Forum classroom, will be studying the topic of Prayer including discussions on "The purpose of prayer," "Praying for the right reason," and "Making time to pray." The 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders, led by Travis Armes in the South Forum classroom, will be discussing the idea of the Christian Atheist based on the book by Craig Groeschel, The Christian Atheist: Believing in God but Living as If He Doesn't Exist. Discussions will include "When you believe in God but you won't forgive," "When you believe in God but not in prayer," "When you believe in God but pursue happiness at any cost," and "When you believe in God but not in His Church."

Please join us for a fun afternoon that will change the lives of people around the world. Feed My starving Children is a group which packages meals that are able to be used by just adding water. If you would like to help, we have reserved a number of spots to visit the Tempe food packing location and pack meals to be sent overseas. This will take place on Saturday, October 15, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. This can be a family event, or just a fun way to fellowship with several friends from the congregation. While Feed My Starving Children does not require donations, they do request that volunteers prayerfully consider helping cover the cost of the food. The average adult person packages $52 worth of food during the two-hour session.

Helpful Information
We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!
We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone! Communion/Lords Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along. Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led. Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions
