Business Development Manager


(Petaling Jaya)

Responsibilities: Define and implement the business plans necessary to meet Relationship and Transactional Business revenue and GM objectives Drive initiatives to maximize mix, margin and overall product contribution to the portfolio & business Responsible for building, implementing, & executing countrys product demand generation programs, which align to quarterly & annual financial goals Minimum 70% time allocated to TM related planning/ activities

Key Objectives of Position: Business/ Planning Drive initiatives to maximize mix, margin and overall product contribution to the portfolio & business Responsible for building, implementing, & executing countrys product demand generation programs, which align to quarterly & annual financial goals Evaluate performance against plan at appropriate intervals (e.g., daily, weekly) and instigate corrective actions to keep country on track to achieve LOB goals Provide relevant input to the annual & quarterly planning cycles by LOB key financials (Platform Mix, Units, AUR, AUM, Rev$, Margin$) Identify opportunity to partner with alliances to grow business

Product related: Effectively manage Product Transitions with a view to maximizing revenue & profit Ensure accurate forecasting for relevant products; co-owner (with Sales) for countrys forecast Effectively differentiates Lenovo offerings from competitive alternatives and creates distinct customer preference for Lenovo offerings. Knows when to

bring elements of competitors' offerings or products into the equation to create the highest yielding deal for the customer and Lenovo Determine customer needs through participation in Sales & Customer meetings. Recommend and position appropriate product to customers Feedback competitive price:spec details to COE product/pricing team to help arrive at appropriate positioning and product messaging

Day-To-Day Responsibilities: Ownership of integration of product, pricing, promotion and channel plans by product (notebook and desktop) and segment (Consumer, SMB and Relationship) Ownership of interfacing with country sales, distributor and reseller teams to understand product and market dynamics and translate it into a promotion plan Ownership of weekly order load and sell through commitment and delivery Interfacing with product teams to understand key product/ component pricing changes and how it will impact product positioning, programs and bidds Interfacing with marketing lead to ensure a media coverage for promotion plans Promotion planning for High Volume shows Review weekly price position and recommend corrective actions Ownership of competitive intelligence on marketing programs

Requirements: University degree in any discipline MBA an added advantage 3-5 years sales and marketing experience in fast paced IT industry Proven experience in demand generation programs in IT industry Preferably with at least 2 years product marketing and/ or channel experience Strong business acumen & IT market Knowledge in corporate, SMB and consumer customers decision making processes Multi-tasker, game for a challenge Team player Attention to detail but able to take a step back to view the bigger picture Strong negotiator (both in terms of handling internal and external parties) Dynamic personality, fun loving tempered with strong work ethic

Key Competencies Needed: Technical: Strong understanding of product life cycle management Strong understanding of promotional programs mechanics for SMB and consumer markets Good understanding of corporate customer buying behaviour Good understanding of PC and Notebook products and technology Maintains mastery of competition's offerings, strategies, and plans

Non Technical: Strong drive for results Strong interpersonal skill & keen attention to details Ability to manage through influence, negotiation Strong verbal and written communication skills Fluent in English
