The key elements of this strategic framework, which can be used as an Agri-Pinoy Check List are the following: Broad-based Partnership Farm to Table Sustainable Farming Systems Resiliency

Why broad-based? Because there is an increasing demand from an increasing population. We need to increase the productivity of the broadest numbers of producers Because we need a broader and more varied base to insure sustainability and resilience in the face of climate change and the global market

What are the implications? The DAs services and resources must be proportionately and equitably allocated to small, medium, and large players The DAs services and resources must appreciate the role of the various

Partnerships with: Other national government agencies especially its Convergence partners DAR and DENR This is open to other national agencies Local governments, who have the responsibility to insure food security

Minimize the dependence on imports to meet national food requirements Promote and develop technological interventions that increase productivity while ensuring sustainability Recognize the limits of the carrying capacity of our natural resources increase the capability of our human

Sustainability includes preparing the successor generation Promote appreciation of agriculture especially among young people e.g. Gulayan sa Paaralan in partnership with the DepEd, learning lessons from 4-H Clubs and other previous youth programs

Sustainability and resilience are both ecological and economic, addressing both bio-physical and market changes Climate change and vulnerabilities 58% of our production sites are vulnerable to climate impact
