I. Introduction
The following is a user manual to help new students navigate within the library section of the University of Phoenix website. It will teach the student in an informative manner, how to use the library section and includes a brief description of each section.

The purpose of this is to help students learn the library and where things are located.

B. WritePoint
WritePoint is an automated document review service only offered by UOP to provide quick and effective reviews of a students submitted documents. This service allows students to submit multiple drafts of a document and will review each document for basic grammar issues. This automated service is available 7 days a week and is available 24 hours a day. Any down times will be identified as part of the important messages on the CWE page. Tutor Review Tutor review service provides a more in-depth feedback than the WritePoint service. An actual human will review the first few pages of the submitted documents and provide feedback. It should be noted that due to the resources provided as part of this service there are a few limitations. 1. Reviewers will identify an issue only the first two times in occurs in a document. 2. The tutor will only review the first four pages of any submitted document. 3. Student document can only be submitted once. 4. Turnaround times for reviews can take up to 5 days. When using the tutor service it is recommended that the student completes his or her document prior to submission and submit the document for review at minimum of one week prior to assignment submission date.
C. Plagiarism Check
The Plagiarism Check service quickly reviews a document for content that may have been developed by another author and returns the document to the student for proper citation or rewrite. This service can be invaluable to ensure students have not made copyright violations in their documents. Although this service normally has a quick turnaround, it is recommended that new students check the webpage for information on high volume days or times.

The following steps detail how papers are submitted to the CWE using the above form: 1. Item A provides an area for the student to title the paper being submitted. This can be used to identify the title of the paper and what version is submitted to help students keep track of their files. This field has room for over 100 characters allowing for some flexibility in how the document is titled. 2. Click the button to open a file selection window. This window will allow students to browse their computer and locate the file they are planning on submitting. (Figure 3 Item B) 3. Select the course (course student is currently enrolled in) by clicking on the course selection drop down list. (Figure 3 Item C) 4. The student has the ability to submit a paper written in both English and Spanish by selecting the submitting language to ensure the paper is routed the appropriate reviewing resources. (Figure 3 item D) 5. A paper can be submitted to single or multiple services by selecting each service the student wants to use. See sections 2.2 2.4 for descriptions of the services. 6. Finally, clicking the button will send the selected paper to the service selected in step 5.

1. Tutorials and Guides
The University of Phoenix provides access to numerous tutorials and guides that can be accessed by clicking on the link found in the Writing Tools section of the CWE page.

By clicking the Tutorials & Guides link identified in figure4, the student is navigated to the Tutorials & Guide webpage. This page is laid out as a list of the different writing resources available to each student. (See figure.2) It is recommended that students review each of the areas provided and take full benefit of the wealth of information provided in this section.

2. Writing Manuals
Writing manuals can be acquired by selecting the link displayed in figure 4 item B. From this link students can purchase writing reference manuals. APA and Gregg manuals are available for purchase.
3. Finding Help
There are multiple ways to request help from the CWE staff. By clicking the link identified in figure 4 item C, students are taken to the webpage that allows them to leave a message for the CWE staff on the customer service web page. Before submitting a question to the customer support group, students should review the Knowledge base and FAQ section of the customer service area. Answers to the most common asked questions are listed to help students quickly find an answer.

The Library Services portion of the University Library website is the main area for library support. This section focuses on various topics to assist the University Library student with common questions and answers, on-line librarian support, document requests, tutorials and user guides. From this page, the student can select from the following support areas shown below. Each section will be described in detail.

B. Search FAQs
The Search FAQs is the first place a student should review when looking for answers to common questions. The student enters some text keywords and the system retrieves data found in the FAQ database matching that criteria. The Search Criteria area is a text field where the student enters the text keywords to search with. The text format is similar to a common search engine. Once the search details are entered, the student initiates the search by depressing the Search button. Results are displayed to the student based on the criteria entered. The student can select from the result set or revise the results by entering new search criteria.

C. Ask a Librarian
The Ask a Librarian service is your pathway to obtaining professional guidance and recommendations regarding your research. You will receive a detailed response with specific referrals to appropriate resources and research techniques. A response will be provided in no more than 48 hours; however, average response times are often significantly lower. Students enter contact information in the First Name and Last Name text fields. Students indicate whether they are a student, faculty, staff member or alumni by selecting a button in the University of Phoenix Affiliation section. The relative course is entered in the Course text field. A valid email contact is entered in the Email Address and Additional Email Address section. Students must also select an origin from the Country selection list. If the student desires a response in Spanish, a check box may be selected. The information desired is entered in the last text box. This input is used by the support personal to research the search criteria. This input is limited to a single topic; multiple topics require a new submission for each. The results are emailed directly to the contact information supplied by the student.

G. Library Resources
The Library Resources portion of the University Library web site is the main area to search for articles. This section focuses on various topics to assist the University Library student with a list of resources separated by topic. Within those topics, are multiple sources dealing with the same topic. From this

page, the student can select from the following support areas shown below. Each section will be described in detail.

4. Canadian Indexes
The Canadian Indexes are search engines for any topic pertaining to Canada. Info Desk provides information on businesses and organizations. Canadian Newsstand / CBCA Complete contains newspapers, trade publications, and academic journals. CPI.Q includes periodicals from 1980 to the present.

B. Running Start
Running Start provides students with videos, reading material, interactive exercises and practice problems to help students brush up on their mathematics skills. Students are able to quickly browse information pertaining to specific topics in order to review math skills. In order to fully utilize the Running start resources, students will have to download Aleks interactive program. Additional information on Aleks and other CME resources can be found by accessing the CME knowledge database.
C. Math Anxiety
Many students face anxiety when required to perform mathematical computations. V. Element K Tutorial
A. Introduction to Element K Tutorial
The University of Phoenix offers a selection of over 200 business and technology tutorials that can be accessed through the Element K link located in the student library. Tutorials are self-paced to accommodate user ability. Navigation of Element K is made simple with the use of drop down menus. Areas of Element K that require subscription are not available to students free of charge.
B. My Content
Students have the option to set up a My Content page to track training activities. My Content allows students to monitor all activities available through Element k tutorials. Databases can be bookmarked

C. Catalog
The catalog link is used to search and review all databases contained in the Element K tutorial sections. Databases are chosen by using a drop down menu that contains submenus.
This catalog contains all content available to students. Tutorials contained in this catalog provide sufficient audio and visual instructions.
D. Professional Development
The Professional Development area permits students to increase job functions by completing exams and certifications that strengthen job skills. Brainbench exams can be completed through the

Professional developments link. Brainbench exams are considered the leader in online skills assessment. Students can use Brainbench exams to validate training and knowledge with employers. Multiple certificate exams, such as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), are also provided through the Professional Development link.
E. Help
The Help link provide students with support material concerning all aspects of the Element K area. Subscription services are not accessible. Support topics are closely labeled by headings and description.
