WELCOME!
We extend a warm welcome to all who have come to worship and fellowship with us this morning. If you are a first time visitor with us, please take time to fill out a Welcome Card located in the pew rack and place it in the offering plate. Parents of small children (under age 3) may take them to our Nursery, where a caring staff will supervise them. We also have a Pre-School Program (ages 3-5) that runs during our Worship Service in the Church Time PreSchool Room. One of our ushers would be happy to help you locate either one of these facilities. Elementary School children are invited to take part in our KidZone program which starts after the first part of our Worship Service downstairs in the Vestry.

Convention Prayer Link Please pray for our youth pastors who will gather together on Sept. 26th 27th for the annual Youth Pastors Summit. This is a time where youth pastors can come together for two days of networking, encouragement, and refreshment. Pray that their time together would be without distractions where they can focus and hear God speaking to them, that they will be strengthened and encouraged in their ministry, and that they will find refreshment. Our Prayer Initiative We are invited to join together in prayer for one another. As we move through our fellowship alphabetically, look for your name to appear. If it doesn't, please let Peter know, for we wish to be in prayer for YOU. This week, please be in prayer for: David & Deborah Hindle, Gloria Hirtle, and David, Anita, Elizabeth & Samantha Hovey. Bereavement As a caring community of faith and love we extend our sincere Christian sympathy to the family and friends of Joyce Tavener, who passed away on September 10th, 2011. KidVenture Begins! Were looking forward to another exciting year of our KidVenture program for children age 4 Grade 6 starting this Wednesday night, September 21st from 6:30 7:45 pm. Parents please bring your children down to the vestry. Want To Be A Zuppeteer? If you are in Grade 6, 7 or 8 and are interested in putting on puppet shows and skits, you are invited to join the Zuppeteers. Starting today, this group will meet downstairs every second week during the KidZone time slot.

Reading Program Please bring your completed lists to the Library by next Sunday, September 25th as we bring our Summer Reading Program to a close. Induction Service The Halifax Baptist Chaplaincy invites everyone to attend the Induction Service of Rev. Adele Crowell as full-time Hospital Chaplain. This Service will take place tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Bedford Baptist Church. Seniors Fall Bus Trip Our Seniors Bus Trip is planned for Friday, October 7th. We will be visiting the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, the Saltscapes Restaurant in Millbrook and the Masstown Market before making our way back to Bedford. Seniors from Faith Baptist will be joining us on the trip. Our church will be covering our share of the rental cost. An opportunity will be made available for any who wish to make a donation. A sign-up sheet will be in place for next Sunday. Automatic Debit Available Our church offers the option of monthly giving through automatic debit. If you would like more information, or are interested in participating in either of these ways, please contact the church office. Hospice Film There will be a viewing of the documentary film Pioneers of HospiceChanging the Face of Dying on Wednesday, September 21st from 7:00-9:00 pm at Hospice House (9 Spring Street, Bedford).

Seniors Luncheon at Bayside Camp September 22nd from 11:00 am 1:00 pm Enjoy a time of singing your favorite hymns, hearing a few stories from the summer and a devotional by Rev. Nelson Metcalfe. While there is no registration fee an offering will be collected in support of the year-round ministry of the camp. Register by calling Melanie at (902) 868-CAMP. Association Information Session The Constitution Review Committee of the Halifax United Baptist Region Association will present a Draft of the proposed documents respecting Incorporation of the Association at an Information Meeting to be held on Saturday, September 24th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at Bedford Baptist Church. Cemetery Service Brookside Cemeterys Annual Memorial Service will be held today at 2:30 pm. Everyone welcome, for your comfort please bring a lawn chair. Brookside Cemetery is located on Wardour Street in Bedford. Human Trafficking Information Session The Salvation Army and the Nova Scotia Inter-Agency Group on Human Trafficking (NSIGHT) are hosting an information session on this issue on Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Church at 328 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, NS.
