Comments on the article: Article that i choose is Can You Eat Fast Food on a Diet? By Sarah Clark. This is unsound argument. Though a few sample of cases in which the writer negatively potrayed the disadvanteges of fast food were cited, most of what was said did not contribute to supporting the conclusion. For example, too many hasty generalization in this article. We can identify it from this sentence. He came up with the idea after seeing a news story on the television in the America about two teenage girls who were seing McDonalds because they claimed that eating McDonalds foods had made them fat. This sentence clearly showed that the example had been taken by the writer are weak and biased because doesnt mean the McDonalds that the girls eat make them fat. Maybe there is other factor that can make them fat such as lack of exercise. Eating McDonalds burger alone cannot make people fat. Other examples of hasty generalization made by the writer is that, burgers and fries from a fast food restaurant are notoriously cheap. If you have a family, of course, existing on fast food could prove to be one of the diasdvantages, as it would be rather more expensive to feed a whole family. This sentence completely show that the writer is making a bias conclusion. It doesnt mean if we have a family, that will be the disadvantages for us. Now, there are many type of sets that can be convenience and cheap for a person that have a family. Like KFC, they have a family feast

that have the same price as the individual set. The third hasty generalization is Ready meals have been highlighted as being high in salt, fat and also additives. It doesnt mean ready meal is high in salt. There are many option of healthy ready meals such as sandwich bars that are usually good for pick our own option, we can also choose a salad, a soup or jacket potato which can be a good alternative if we are bored with sandwiches. They also have endless variations which can be healthy. The last hasty generalization can be found in this sentence. They are usually made fresh on the premises, and although by law they have to give ingredients, the calorie and fat count is likely vary. This is the weak argument because the writer simply accused the manufacturer lie about the calorie and fat count they put in the food. The writer cant simply accused the manufacturer lying about the calorie and fat count because every factory must have their specialist and all the fast food must undergo all the chemical test before they been verified. The second fallacy in this article is slippery slope. Slippery slope happened when the arguer claims that a sort of chain reaction, usually ending in some direct consequences, will take place, but theres really not enough evidence for that assumption. In this article, we can detect that the writer is making the slippery slope via this sentence. Indian fast food can positively loaded with vitaminsbut can also be very damaging to the waistline! Strike a balance with vegetable curries and briyannis, plain rice, and vegetable side dishes like sag aloo. For meat lovers, a tandoori dish is good as it is a plain meat with no sauce, marinated in aromatic herbs and yoghurt. Give the kormas, passandas and massalas a miss because they are loaded with ghee and althought there will be some nutrition from the tomato and other vegetables in the sauce, it is pretty much cancelled out by the huge fat content. At first the write want to prove that the Indian food can be positively loaded with vitamins. But as she enter the second line, she has given the prove that Indian food is loaded with huge content of fat. She stated it in this sentence. and although there will be some nutrition from the tomato and other vegetables in the sauce, it is pretty much cancelled out by the huge fat content. The writer should not mix up the arguments as she should give some evidence and facts about Indian food loaded with vitamins. Instead, she give another arguments about Indian food contain many fat and calories. This can be seen in this sentence. Give the kormas, passandas and massalas a miss because they are loaded with ghee.
