Many of these options will be used later on. For now just type Bus 1 in the field for Bus Name and input 735 in the Nominal Voltage field. Also check the System Slack Bus option. Then click in the OK button.
Change the orientation to Right. And input 60 MW and 40 Mvar in the Constant Power column. Click the OK button.
The line parameters are given in pu. Capture 0.05 in the Resistance field, .20 in the Reactance field, and 0.8 in the Charging field. Input 200 in the Limit A field.
Now we will add some useful information of the system. Right Click on Bus 1, a new menu appears. Select Add New Fields around Bus. The following dialog appears.
Click on the label Pos5 of the upper figure. The following dialog appears.
Then click on the label Pos1 of the upper figure. Select Bus Angle from the dialog box and click OK. Then click OK to close the original dialog box. You can drag and drop the new inserted fields to a place of your choice. Repeat this for Bus 2. The schematic should look like the following.
Select the Run Mode button. If the Run Mode toolbar did not appear, then right click in the toolbar and select it from the menu that appears.
Go back to the Edit Mode. Right-click the label 60 MW. The following dialog appears.
Input 10 in the Delta per Mouse Click field. Click OK. Repeat for the 40 MVR label. New arrow buttons should have appeared. To make the buttons and font size larger, click on the label and then from the Format menu select Font. Then choose a larger font size.
Go to Run Mode and select Play. You can then click on the arrow buttons to modify the load.
