One 15 Mw nuclear reactor, probably upgraded to 40 Mw (from PRC) allegedly serves a clandestine nuclear weapons program; one 1 Mw nuclear research reactor (from Argentina); basic R&D; signatory to the NPT. Safeguards agreement with the IAEA in force. Signed and ratified the African Nuclear Weapons Free Zone Treaty (Treaty of Pelindaba).
