Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc) and turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) are herbs that very
beneficial for health. This research aims to determine the physical characteristics and society preference
levels for instant powder drinks combination of ginger and turmeric with using sugar (F1) and variations
of sugar and brown sugar 3:1 (F2). The instant powder drinks were made using sugar crystallization
method. The results showed that the use of sugar and variations of sugar and brown sugar at F1 and F
each were 6.12; 1.61%; 5.27%; 8.93 g/s; and 31 The public preference levels for F1 and F2 was
significantly different in color and aroma, but that is not significantly different in taste.
