Anti-Aging Biological Circuit Finally Comes into Focus

Gregory S. Bambeck Ph.D. and Michael Wolfson J.D., M.B.A. The largest and most pervasive central biological control circuit in the living cell is the one that responds to the cells external and internal nutrient availability conditions. This circuit establishes the rate of cell growth and division versus the rate at which the cell ages. The opposition between cell growth under nutrient rich conditions, and anti-aging under nutrient poor (as calorie restricted) conditions has ancient evolutionary roots in primitive single cells. It is still the innermost core system presiding in all animal cells today, including the cells of the human body. Although the core system branches outward to a dizzying array of cross regulatory control and cyclic feed forward and feed back components, the heart of the cell growth versus caloric restriction circuits can be significantly and beneficially manipulated, to extend life, with a small handful of food supplements. The key essence of this metabolic circuit consists of two interdependent systems; one we call the cell growth circuit and the other we call the caloric restriction circuit. The cell growth circuit mostly responds to the cells external food energy supply. When nutrients external to the cell are in abundance, the cell growth system turns on, the cell imports the food and the cell grows and creates offspring. Cells in a constant state of such abundance live fast, burn out and die young. Of course, when food runs low, the cell growth system slows way down. On the other hand, the caloric restriction circuit mostly responds to the cells internal energy supply status. When internal energy availability is low because both the external and internal food supplies have been used up, the caloric restriction system up regulates. These cells begin to efficiently scavenge and cleanse their own internal resources and the aging rate slows down considerably. When both the cell growth system is suppressed by the lack of external food, and simultaneously, the caloric restriction system is activated by the lack of internal food, life extension far beyond the normal maximum occurs. This is true in all organisms tested, from simple yeast, to insects, fish, mammals, and even up to humans. However, living a life of near starvation, by severely restricting caloric intake, simply for the purpose of living a lot longer, trades away quality of life in exchange for quantity of life, and most people, just plain flat out wont put up with this much sacrifice. Besides, extensive caloric restriction can be quite dangerous, if not scrupulously conducted under a physicians care, because vitamin and other deficiencies can occur.

Fortunately, there are readily available and inexpensive food supplements, such as resveratrol, silibinin, curcumin, soy genistein, green tea EGCG, and others, that can directly down regulate the cell growth and up regulate the caloric restriction circuits in ways to institute life extension when employed along with a reasonable diet and moderate exercise. Provided in concentrated form, these food supplements have a long history of safety because they have been used in herbal medicines for centuries. They are also available in common foods, such as blue berries, grapes, apples etc. Unfortunately, these life extension nutrients exist in way too small amounts in most natural foods to yield any great life extension benefit. One of the ways these food supplements institute life extension is by dramatically decreasing the incidence and rate of development of the major diseases of aging, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes II, muscular wasting, nerve degeneration and others. The other way is that they turn on the anti-aging biological circuits, directly. They work so well that pharmaceutical companies want to make them virtually unavailable to the common citizen. To find out why and how these corporations plan to do this, you can locate an interpretation of their political agenda on the internet via search engine as Bambeck Conquest 7. For those of you who are interested in the actual workings of the biological circuit itself, how the circuit operates in the major diseases of aging and/or what the essential food supplements are and how they function, the information can be found in the Bambeck and Wolfson paper entitled Life Extension Metabolic Pathway Map Reveals New Phytonutrient Candidates on the internet. Various portions and subcategories of the paper can be found on a number of internet web sites, but the only entire and unabridged version is located via the internet publication house, SCRIBD. This article is a bit technical, so if you have a little trouble with it, dont give up. Instead, print it, copy and paste it, or download it to a friend who is a doctor, nurse, clinician, nutritionist or molecular biologist, and verify it through one or more medically qualified personnel. Do this, because this knowledge is real, is brand new and can be very important to your life. Incidentally, we are not promoting or selling any product of any kind. All we are trying to do is inform the general public and the professional health community of one of the most important scientific breakthroughs to happen in decades. Gregory S.
