Problems in Cybernauts

1) Inactive Students
• Increasing number of inactive students from the time of Farhan’s
presidency of the club.

2) Teamwork
• The sense of belonging for the CCA as a clan of people with
uniform interests has been failed to establish.
• Only Individual Interests have been taken care of in the
Executive Committee (Exe.Com) of the Cybernauts.
• Proper Cybernaut camps have not been yet decided up to date
from when the ex-president, Farhan left the club.

3) Leadership
• Punishments For Penalties
- E.g. writing of a word essay ranging from 500 to 1000 words for
trivial ‘crimes’ such as reporting late for even 5 minutes and
sometimes even with a valid reason.
• Unreasonable fines for minor offences like being caught for
accidentally coming across an undesirable website.
- Conversing with members in an informal manner just like the
members themselves
- Self – centeredness among the Exe.Com members such as
participation for competitions or other activities.
• Wide - spread favoritism by the Exe.Com members to the
members of the club.
E.g. Tze Hock hanging out with them and not doing the tasks
assigned to the members though he was kicked out of the Exe.Com
long before.
• Leader does not encourage any forms of Racial Harmony among
the members and also the Exe.Com members.
• No push factors to meet deadlines or commitments.
• No proper Hierarchy system in the Exe.Com.
• No proper communication between the members and the
Exe.Com members which eventually results in the surging
number of inactive students.
• No additional meetings on Fridays and Saturdays which is totally
unlike other CCA’s.

4) Discipline

I
The Cybernauts’ Exe.Com
 • Members criticizing the leaders and vice-versa.
• No sense of maturity
E.g. teasing of the opposite sex by the members and the
Exe.Com not controlling it.
• Playing of games during the lesson
• Making unnecessary commotion during lessons and none of the
Exe.Com members to control it though there is Exe.Com
members assigned just for it.

Conclusion
1) Cybernauts discipline is drastically going down.
2) Leaders without any sort of an aim or a goal in their leading.
E.g. Peng Tiong - - - has absolutely no tasks in the Exe.Com
since he is always found to be another inactive member of
the Exe.Com.
Teresa - - - Practically any lay man in the club is able to
do the collecting of the cash as long as he/she can be
entrusted with it.
Isa & most of the juniours - - - all he has to do is to just
roam around like hyenas, searching for any rule-breakers to
execute another one of the ridiculous punishments on the
person.

3) Atrocious punishments are executed upon the members of

the club which gives a much worse impression towards
outsiders and the juniors of the club as well as it makes
their behavior towards the Exe.Com members, all the
worse.

Resolution
1) Since we have experienced all the atrocities of the previous
Exe.Com, we are determined to preside over the club in a
more mature ad disciplined manner.
2) We would like to reinforce rules which, as more reasonable
and at the same time meet the members of the Cybernauts’
Expectations.
3) We are highly motivated and inspired to preside the club in
a fashion that Farhan and his Exe.Com members were
leading.

 4) We want to desperately change the hierarchy system so
that all the members and the future members of the
Cybernauts will be able to enjoy and benefit from the
successes of the Cybernauts and not only the individual
successes.
5) We want to make the IT club along with AVA video members
to regain its position as the niche area of the school like it
previously used to be just like the current dance and drama.

Conclusively, we would like to inculcate the volunteerism spirit of

the Cybernauts and allow any member of Cybernauts to preside
or lead or be in the Exe.Com until the general population of the
Cybernauts votes for the particular person to be out of that
position.

I would like to support and abide by the new hierarchy system by

all means and would follow newly-formed rules of the Cybernauts
whether innocent or guilty. I hereby support this petition to
reform the structure of Cybernauts:
