Case Study Competition Guidelines

Welcome to Aon Hewitt Case Study Competition


This document provides participation and evaluation guidelines The objective of this initiative is for you to gain an understanding of client situations, project mandates and the broad nature of work at Aon Hewitt It will also help you gauge your interest in and aptitude for a career in consulting All second year students only are eligible to enter this contest This is a team competition As a Consultant at Aon Hewitt, you would almost always work in teams, with each member being responsible for certain aspects/ modules of the project A team, typically, comprises of an Team Member, Module Leader, and a Project Manager (A Project Director may be added, if it is a large/ complex/ integrated assignment). On this Case Study, too, you are expected to work in a simulated consulting environment of a team of 3 members max

Participation
How do I enter the Aon Hewitt Case Study Competition? The first step is forming your consulting team comprising of 3 members max You then need to send an e-mail to your placement coordinator confirming your teams participation. Please mention each team members full-name, specialization and roll no. Write Case Study Confirmation in the subject line To help us track all entries, please send all confirmation mails by Monday, September 26 What happens next ? By Wednesday, September 28, the placement coordinator will email the Case Study and supporting documents to each team Your team needs to submit the final approach note on the specified format in not more than 1000 words by Thursday, September 29 Please do mention the names of all team members in the email Write Case Study Competition Entry in the subject line

Evaluation
On what basis, will the proposed solution be evaluated? Who will conduct the evaluation? How many teams will be short-listed? Our clients evaluate a partnering consulting organization on the basis of how closely the proposed approach addresses their business and people requirements and the rigour of the outlined intervention/s Similarly, while evaluating each entry, we will be judging it on the basis of conceptual clarity, alignment to business/people challenges, and the ability to convince us (the clients) of your teams proposed approach. The Judging Panel will comprise of 3-4 Senior Colleagues at Aon Hewitt The best five proposals on each campus will then be short-listed for the final Technical Bid round When will the final Technical Bid take place? The final Technical Bid round will take place the very next day you have received the case study. Please check with your Placement Coordinator on the timings The five short-listed teams on each campus will now get an opportunity to present their case analysis and approach directly to the Aon Hewitt judges. You may use a presentation format for this purpose or simply talk through the suggested approach

Selecting the Winning Team


When will the final winner be declared? What is the prize for the winning team? The final winning team will be declared after the 5 short-listed teams on a campus have presented their summaries to the Aon Hewitt judges The parameters for evaluation will remain the same as before; however, the ability to convince the client of the proposed solution/s and response to client questions/ probes will also constitute an important ground for selection The winning team will be awarded a Pre-Placement Interview (PPI), Research Project , Cash prize of INR 60,000 in addition to Aon Hewitt certificate
