Properties: 1 ) Megasurf 4312 has good wetting and dispersing properties. It is dispersible in water, solvents and oils. Thus it can be incorporated in most media as a wetting and dispersing agent. 2 ) It is a very effective emulsifier for mineral oils , vegetable oils , silicone oils , non-polar solvents, waxes, pine oil , Dlimonene etc. In fact it can be used as the sole starting emulsifier for all the emulsification work. The recommended dosage for the emulsification is about 5% - 8% of the total formulation. 3 ) It is a good solubilizer or coupling agent for the mixing of different types of solvents such as polar and non-polar solvents. The dosage recommended depends on the ratio of the polar and non-polar solvents. Our laboratory work shows that a dosage of 2% - 10% is workable

4 ) It also helps in the coupling of hydrophobic and hydrophilic chemicals such as the mixing of polar solvents with oils or hydrophobic surfactants , the mixing of hydrophilic surfactants with oils or non-polar solvents as well as the mixing of hydrophobic and hydrophilic surfactants. The dosage of 2% - 10% is recommended. 5 ) It is a good dispersant for Carbon Black, iron oxides and other pigments or extenders.

Applications In view of its excellent and versatile properties, Megasurf 4312 finds applications in the following industries: Coatings & Ink The excellent dispersing properties of Megasurf 4312 is best demonstrated in the dispersion and wetting of pigments and other extenders. A dosage is 0.3 1 % of the total formulation in a solvent-based system is sufficient to bring about the desired result. For water-based system, 0.5 3% of the weight of pigment or extender is recommended Textile From the dispersion of pigments to the cleaning of fibres or yarns, Megasurf 4312 shows desirable characteristics. Owing to its good wetting, dispersing, emulsifying and coupling properties, it is very useful to be formulated into various textile auxiliaries such as spinning oils, scouring agents, leveling agents, fixing agents, stripping agents and finishing agents etc. In view of its good tolerance to high caustic content and good wetting properties, it is very useful the Kier Boiling and mercerizing of cotton. Leather Megasurf 4312 can be easily formulated into a degreasing agent, fat-liquoring agent or leather processing. It is a good wetting and dispersing agent in the tanning process. Paper In the paper and pulp industries it is used as a wetting and dispersing agent due to its high tolerance level of caustic soda. It is also applicable in the de-inking and other processes in the manufacture of recycled papers. Metal Working and Finishing Megasurf 4312 is soluble in most of the oils used in the metal working fluid. Thus, it can be easily incorporated in its formulation. As it is a good emulsifier, it produces a stable emulsion. Emulsion Emulsification of oils and other hydrophobic waxes can be easily accomplished with Megasurf 4312 as the emulsifying agent. Agriculture. Megasurf 4312 is excellent in the Dispersion or emulsification of pesticides, herbicides and insecticides Construction As a dispersant for cement in the batching of concrete or mortar, Megasurf 4312 helps to retard the setting time, thereby improving the strength of the concrete or mortar.
