Course Outline MGT 2063 Management Information System

01. Objective of the Course


The main objective of this course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about Management Information Systems in an organisational context. And also to provide an understanding of information needs of management, information technology used by various business subsystems, and how technology can be utilized for competitive advantage.

02. Learning Outcomes


By the end of the course you will be able to: 1. Relate and apply the diverse concepts in managing information systems. 2. Analyze the information needs of knowledge workers and management as well as how information systems might use to gain competitive advantage as an organizational resource. 3. Describe the role of information technology in the acquisition, production, and distribution of goods and services throughout the economy. 4. Judge the possible information systems solution to organizational problems (by identifying, analyzing, and proposing possible information systems solutions to organizational problems).
