Tourism in Maldives
Tourism is the largest source of income in Maldives. It is one of the major sources of employment for Maldivians as well. History Tourism in Maldives began in the late 1900s. On the 16TH of February in 1972 the first tourist group came to Maldives on a charter flight of Air Ceylon. They stayed at three different houses; Maagiri, Kaneeru Villa and Lux Wood for 12 days. Muman Agency was the first tourist agency to open in the Maldives and was involved in the construction of the first tourist resort, Kurumba RD Village (Vihamanaafushi) on 3 October 1972. Benefits of tourism in Maldives Tourism brings in lots of foreign currency to the Maldives and also provide lots job opportunities for Maldivian people. Disadvantages of tourism in Maldives Alcohol is smuggled out of resorts and used by Maldivians. Also our land is used up in building resorts while some people are homeless. Persuasive Letter
Dear Mom,

For the past many years, you may have known that I have wanted a dog. And now I still really want a dog. The difference now, is that I think I am actually responsible enough to take care of one. The benefit of my having a dog is that I will have someone to talk to at the end of the day. As you know, I am an only child and I stay home a lot, and it gets lonely. I dont enjoy going out as much as a normal teenager would go out so I think I really need a good friend at home so I dont get bored all the time and complain about it to you, and then I do nothing but watch television and play on the computer. On top of that, I think it will further bond our family. Although it would be my dog for the most part we all will see it and we will share its love together. Research shows that having a dog has therapeutic effects and can make ones stress levels go down. We all work hard and at the end of the day, I think a dog will really help in making us happy. Having a dog will also teach me responsibility skills. I could teach it to do tricks, commands, and make it obedient. I would also be taking it out for frequent daily walks so I get exercise and so does the dog. Lets face it; I do need some extra exercise in my day to day routine. I think I am responsible enough because I have stayed on top of my academics. I am an honors student and my grades have been sharp. I have worked really hard in trying to make you guys trust me and I think I have earned myself a new friend. I also know the basic caring needs for a dog. I use to take care of a cat and pick up his poop so I would have no problem with that. I also already know how to clean the dog. I did a lot of research online and now I know that dogs need annual checkups at the vet, and thats about all the doctor care they need. They do not need pet insurance. They can also stay home when I am at school. Also, if you are concerned about where the dog would sleep, it could sleep in my room. Or, we could find a place for it somewhere else in the house. If we get a dog I promise you that it would be only my responsibility. Unless you want to, you dont even have to feed it, walk it, or pick up its poop. I guarantee it 100%. If I break that promise, we can figure out a way to penalize me such as making me pay the money it took to buy the dog. If you let me get a dog, I dont want it as a puppy. Instead, I would like to adopt/rescue a healthy one. In our world, there are a lot of bad pet owners so at animal shelters they are always looking for someone to adopt a dog. If the dog doesnt get adopted, they basically will kill it and I would like to save a life. The dog would be house trained so it wont pee on the carpet. That would be a problem that we could avoid if we adopted a dog rather than getting it as a puppy. If you allow me to get a dog, I would get a dog that would be good in our house. Something that would meet your requirements of sizing. My top pick for us would be the Labrador retriever. Its kind and likes family. It is a medium to large sized dog and would make the perfect pet because it is easy to train, gentle, and friendly. But if you disapprove, I would be happy to compromise and go with a smaller sized dog. Please take this into consideration and look deep down into your hearts. I have never wanted something for so long, so badly, and so much in my life. Im not looking for an answer right away. You should take your time and think about it. To me, it is very important to get a dog. I know that

English Project 2011 you use to have pets, and I really want that joyful childhood experience too. So please, have a little faith and trust in me.
