Terrain: FLANG, Camp Blanding, FL. The OCS area is urban with concrete paths, grass, and a network of roads that contain potholes. Some training areas are undeveloped and contain rolling hills, uneven terrain and heavily wooded areas covered in underbrush. Camp Blanding contains large ant hills and low lying areas that are typical habitats for snakes, spiders, ticks and other insects. b. Friendly Forces. FLANG OCS Class 51 will conduct a 5 mile tactical road march from 0430-0630 on 21 AUG 2011.

3. EXECUTION Commander's Intent. OCS Class 51 will conduct a 5 mile tactical road march starting at 210430 AUG and ending NLT 210630 AUG. All OCs will maintain 100% accountability of all personnel assigned and all equipment. Class 51 will complete the road march as a company and without any injuries.

Task: Review the road movement table with Class 51 to ensure that all candidates and student leadership understands the pace, distances and signals. Purpose: To ensure that all candidates as well as student leadership understands the pace, distances and signals being used during the road march. Task: Review the ruck sack packing list and the required uniform for the road march. Ensure all OCs are in proper uniform and have all required equipment. Purpose: To ensure that all candidates are uniform and are operating as a unit. Candidate leadership will verify that each ruck sack weighs in at no less than 37lbs.

Task: Conduct PCCs/PCIs to ensure all equipment is accounted for and in working condition. Purpose: To ensure that all candidates are prepared for the mission and have equipment necessary maximize safety and meet the standards.

End state: OCS Class 51 will conduct a 5 mile tactical road march within allotted time frame with all personnel, equipment without any major injuries.

a. Concept of Operation. Phase I: Squad leaders will conduct PCCs on each candidate in their squad to verify that each ruck sack contains the required items prior to 190400 AUG. Squad leaders will relay any discrepancies to their chain of command and notify their

platoon sergeants once their entire squad is prepared. The platoon sergeant will conduct a PCI of their platoon, weigh each candidates ruck sack to ensure they weigh at least 37lbs and relay the results to their chain of command NLT 202300 AUG. Platoon leaders will review the road movement table with their platoon during breaks from class. Phase II: OCS Class 51 will move as a unit to the designated start point (SP) at the RTI parking lot entrance NLT 0420. At 0430 OCS class 51 will conduct a 5 mile tactical road march and return to the end point, which is the same as the SP at 0630. Phase III: Upon completion of the road march, class leadership will get accountability of assigned personnel and equipment and the first sergeant will march the company to the barracks area for personal hygiene. b. Scheme of Maneuver. (1) Phase I: Candidate leadership will conduct PCCs and PCIs on all candidates and their equipment as well as have all ruck sacks weighed and recorded prior to 202300 AUG. Class 51 will review the road movement table and conduct road march rehearsals as time permits during breaks in class. Class 51 will conduct first formation NLT 210400 AUG. After accountability, candidates will assume the established road march formation on Panama City Street facing Avenue B. The exact SP will have the time clock positioned at it. Road guards will be placed at the front and rear of the formation and will wear reflective vests. Medical personnel and an ambulance will follow the company to assist any candidates that may need medical attention during the road march. (2) Phase II: At 0430 hours, the candidate company commander will give the signal (a waving forward movement with a chemlight) and OCS Class 51 will move out tactically according to the road movement table and follow the designated route to the 2.5 mile turn around point which will be at the intersection of Duval Road and Avenue C. Platoon sergeants and platoon leaders will be positioned in the middle of their platoons and will check on their candidates constantly to assess the condition of their platoon. company commander of any injuries that their platoon sustains. Once at the turn around point, the columns of files will turn to the outside of the formation and begin to march to the end point. Throughout the road march, platoon sergeants will ensure that each candidate in their platoon maintains proper spacing and that the spacing between the two platoons is maintained as well. The first sergeant will ensure that the company maintains the pace necessary in order for the company to finish the road march in the allotted time. (3) Phase III: After class 51 arrives at the end point, class 51 will form up in the OCS parking lot and get accountability of all candidates and their equipment. Squad leaders and platoon sergeants will identify any candidates with missing equipment and report any injuries to their chain of command. Once the company commander has accountability of their company, the first sergeant will march the company to the barracks for personal hygiene. c. Tasks to Maneuver Units: All necessary supplies and equipment will be requested and acquired prior to 19 AUG 2011. Medical support personnel and a ambulance will be requested prior to 18 AUG 2011. Class 51 will conduct PCCs and PCIs. All candidates will weigh in their ruck sacks and have the weights recorded at a minimum weight of 37lbs. Class 51 will conduct rehearsals as time permits during classroom breaks. d. Coordinating Instructions. (1) Timeline. See Appendix B (2) Road Movement Table. See Appendix C
