As a current and long-term board member, Iam very aware that the Board operates as a collective body through Board policies, and board members have no "power" as individuals. However, we can encourage the Superintendent to have his staff explore ideas we have or learn or Treasurer or their about. Board members communicate to Staff through the Superintendent 1)

In response to second question: Why voters should re-elect me:
Over the last 24 years, I have led our Board through some of its most dramatic changes. Two years into
my tenure, I was President when a newly elected majority of the Board took office. I instituted a new business-like tone for our Board meetings that has continued to the present. I pushed for our first facility study, which lead to a bond issue to repair our buildings. I encouraged our entire Board to attend the Ohio School Board Association's (OSBA) Leadership Academy, and we were the first Board in Ohio to have the entire Board complete it. I have continued over the years to attend workshops and conferences to stay current with school funding and educational trends, and I encourage all the Board members to do the same. I have the experience of selecting and working with two new Superintendents and our current Treasurer. and Administration I served for 3 years on the District Leadership Team, working with the Staff that set the current goals for student achievement In math and reading. I am known
for using common sense in my decision making, and for asking the questions the public should have the answers to. With the current challenges and possible changes to school funding under Governor Kasich, I feel my leadership
and experlence Is important to the Euclid City Schools and the residents of Euclid.
