: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. recite the poem with decent stress, rhythm and intonation. 2. complete the given worksheet.

Specific objectives

: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. match at least 5 out of 8 phrases with the correct meanings. 2. answer 4 out of 6 comprehension questions correctly.

Stage. / Time. Set induction. (+/- 10minutes) Rationale: 1.To stimulate students interest to the topic.

Activities. 1. Teacher shows a picture of a forked road and prompts the students to describe the content. 2. Teacher tells the students that people have to make choices everyday in their life and once a choice has been made, there is no turning back. 3. Teacher asks students at random a few questions. (a) Have you ever make any important decisions in life? (b) Do you ever regret the decision you made? 4. Students answer questions orally. 1. Teacher displays a list of difficult phrases and elicits the meaning from the students. 2. Teacher prompts and helps the students to understand the meanings of the phrases. 3. Teacher distributes the poem to the students. 4. Teacher introduces the poem and the gives background knowledge about the poet. 5. Teacher reads the poem with decent stress, rhythm and intonation while the students listen. 6. Teacher elicits the meaning of each line and stanza from the students and prompts when necessary. 1.Teacher plays the audio clip of the poem for the first time while the students listen. and the students repeat after each line.
