there are a few issues that have been encountered running medview express.
1. medview express has been restricted to run only from removable media
(ex: cd, dvd, or usb flash memory). the software cannot be copied and
executed from a hard drive.
4. the default preferences delivered with medview express are not loaded
if medview has been installed or medview express executed on the
computer. if you want to use the delivered preferences, you must delete
the registry key

* exam mode
exam mode displays all exam images in sequential order in the image
workspace. for example, if an exam has two image series and you select
hang exam, all images in the first series display in the image workspace
followed by all images in the second series. when using the exam hang
mode, all the images for the exam automatically display in the image
workspace and there is no need to click and drag the images from the
thumbnails view to the image workspace.
* series mode
series mode displays all images of a particular series sequentially in the
image workspace. for example, if an exam has two image series and you
select hang series, you can display all images in the series of your
choice in the image workspace. to view another image series, click and
drag a thumbnail from the series of your choice from the thumbnails view
to the image workspace.
* stack mode
in stack mode, all images within a series are organized one on top of the
other so you can view the images in succession like a sequence in a film.
stack mode is often used to view ct and mr images because you can view
multiple series at a time and display reference lines on the corresponding
series. to view another image series, click and drag a thumbnail from the
series of your choice from the thumbnails view to the image workspace.

* with a wheel mouse, you can scroll the images in the image workspace by
positioning the mouse pointer in the image workspace and rotating the
scroll wheel.

2. on the popup window, click the left mouse button on a disk to select
the number of rows and columns to display in the image workspace. for

resized image.

when an image does not fit within its image pane, you can use the
pan/magnify tool to move the image within its pane. to select the
pan/magnify tool, click the pan/magnify image tool button on the image
workspace toolbar. then, move the image by clicking and dragging it so
you can view other areas on the image. to adjust the zoom factor of an
image while using the pan/magnify tool, press and hold the left mouse
button on an image to activate the tool and rotate the scroll wheel.

with the window/level image region tool, you can automatically set
window/level values for an image based on the grayscale values of a
specific region of that image. to use this tool, click the window/level
image region tool button on the image workspace toolbar. then, draw a
rectangle around the image region containing the portion of the image you
want to view with optimal window level settings. medview automatically
calculates and applies the optimal window settings for the selected image
region.

using the window/level tool, you can adjust the window/level settings of
selected images by clicking and dragging the mouse either vertically or
horizontally. vertical movement alters the window width and horizontal
movement alters the window level.

an image. to use this tool, click the ruler button, then press and hold
