IT'S A DEAD END YOU BLIND FOOLS!

RAPHAEL ANDONIAN World War I: Nations were busy playing battle games. Each side claimed to represent the good guys. Each side wanted to kill the bad guys. No one was aware of what the Turkish "gray wolf" had prepared for the Armenians. Back then, the Turks had a multiple-step aspiration. They wanted to 1) dominate over the lands extending from the Balkans to Central Asia, 2) "purify" these territories from non-Turkish elements, and 3) establish an integral Turkish Empire. This dream is referred to as the Pan-touranic ideology. Step 1 failed spectacularly. Although the Ottoman Turks had once conquered the Balkans, revolutions rose in these regions, and pushed the Turks outside Europe. On the eastern borders, the Turks were hoping to grab the occasion and occupy Russian territories, not all of them, just the part that links the Ottoman Empire with its "brothers" in Central Asia. But they were paralyzed at the gates of Eastern Armenia (under Russian occupation). Therefore, the Turks had no choice but to skip step 1 and move to step 2: ensuring the "turkishness" of its current territories, by eliminating non-Turkish factors. Nations having "greater" preoccupations, WWI gave the perfect opportunity to execute the criminal plan without grabbing attention. Thus, the Genocide was planned and executed to erase the Armenian factor from the Pantouranic equation. As a direct consequence of the Genocide, one and a half million innocent souls were lost As an indirect consequence, however, one and a half million martyrs descendants are now a great concern for Turkey. Today, the Armenian Genocide issue constitutes a solid barrier on the path of Turkey's progress. Today, decades passed on the crime, we're still struggling to recover our rights. We demand peace for the souls of our martyrs. We demand our lands, our belongings, our cultural historical edifices and much more This is how the Armenian Cause will be solved, and such a solution is a prerequisite for Turkey to evolve and progress This will be the key driver for any Turkish attempt of regional development and expansion. This is, among others, how the Turks will get the passport to join what they think to be their socio-political heaven, which is the European Union. But until we get our rights, we won't allow Turkey to bypass our wall of claims. However, Turkey is still wandering in the alleys of History, hoping that someday the wall blocking their way will just fall but can it just fall? Is it that simple? Can Humanity remove this barrier from the development path of Turkey? Can we, Armenians, accept to remove the keystone that is holding that wall? No! Turkey will not continue its development path unless it solves its problems with us. The road will remain blocked until we get our rights. That's what it will cost for Turkey to move forward, knowing that the cost is much higher if they decide to stay where they are. They can seek economical, social and even political development, but the heavy burden, which is the Armenian Genocide, will impede any progress they try to undertake, unless it's a progress towards breaking taboos, enhancing democracy, reconciling with history and solving the Armenian question.

Our foundations are solid and they are getting deeper; our demands are righteous and our voices are getting higher; our struggle is firm and its getting stronger; our victory is near and we're getting there. Our struggle has continuously developed during decades. More and more states and parliaments are recognizing the Genocide committed by Turkey. More and more people are becoming aware of this crime against Humanity. More and more Turkish citizens are speaking aloud about the issue. Our persistence is scoring successive achievements. Is it not an indicator that we're getting there? We have struggled for decades so what? What do few decades represent for History? What do few decades mean for this thousands years old Nation? After so many years, the issue remains unsolved, but is it a defeat? No, dear friend, it isnt. It cant be. Its nothing less than victory when, in such uneven conditions, and after such persecutions and massacres, a Nation succeeds to survive, and the children of that glorious Nation re-gather themselves to fight for justice. Yes, thats right; we are victorious even before achieving victory. And the Turks can run, hide, or sit and wait, hoping that someday the wall blocking their way will just fall. But no it won't just fall! It's for us to remove that wall. But it's for Turkey to make one daring decision. Are they willing to evolve? If yes, they have to know that they're heading to a dead end. And it will remain a dead end until we decide to open it until they start showing us some positive intentions. But what are they waiting for? Are they so unwilling to progress? Or they're just not seeing the wall? They've crashed into it once, and twice, and they will still crash into it so many times. It's useless; they can't bypass it. Turkey must know that the Armenian Genocide cannot simply be forgotten, nor ignored. It's a crime against Humanity. It can't remain unpunished. It is true that many criminals have escaped from the judgment of History. It is true that people have forgotten about so many massacres and atrocities. But Hitler was wrong as always... People DO remember the extermination of the Armenians. People do know about Turkey's war crimes and human rights violations. Money and intimidation can only buy them some time, but never immunity against justice. After all, although scattered all over the world, we still are the children of that glorious Nation called Armenia. We still are the inheritors of its ages-old History. We still carry the responsibility to bring peace to the souls of our grandfathers. We have the will and the way to recover our rights all of them. We have our own multiplestep aspiration. Step 1 is a public recognition by Turkey of its crimes. It's the most difficult step, but we're not skipping it. Pressure is increasing on Turkey from outsiders, but most importantly from insiders. And it's killing them to know that they will eventually crack down and be forced to confess. And we already are victorious even before achieving victory.
