"To undertake a dream is not an easy thing but it is not a sacrifice either, sacrifices hurt and doing what
you are passionate about will always produce in you a great satisfaction " - Nayli nails

TIPS FOR TAKING THIS COURSE:

1) Set aside an exclusive time to review the videos and study from the workbook just as you did in the
classroom mode.
2) It would be preferable that you print this booklet to quickly consult your notes whenever you need
them.
3) Practice daily and perform your exercises.

SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION MANUAL:

1) Make sure your work area is clean, ventilated and free of foreign products that may contaminate
your nail material.
2) It is necessary to wear an industrial type mask during the work, remember that you will be working
with chemical products that could cause discomfort, also take into account that even if you do not
see it, the lime dust is very fine and you can breathe it.
3) You may choose to wear protective eyewear, as cutting nails, removing or shattering glass may cause
small debris to fly out and enter your eyes.
4) Although many applicators disregard this suggestion, it is NOT recommended to smoke while
working as most products are highly flammable.
5) Although it is not very comfortable I recommend the use of gloves, many skin conditions are not
visible but you could catch some of them by being in prolonged contact with the hands of your
clients.

ETHICS IN OUR WORK

Very few people make reference to this subject, but the training I give my students is characterized by
instilling a sense of professionalism and for me it is very important that every girl who takes a course with me
is distinguished at all times by having a complete preparation.

The training you will acquire as a nail applicator must be rooted in respect.

Respect your profession, many people underestimate the value of our profession believing that it is
an easy thing, never allow someone to devalue your work. ESPECIALLY THE FEMALE CUSTOMERS.
Respect your colleagues, although it is true that this environment is full of feelings of selfishness and
little humility but we all have a different perspective of what it is to be a professional, you will find
colleagues with poor training, avoid teasing and when you can HELP without expecting anything in
return. "Be the difference you want to see in the world." Respect your clients, the best way to offer
respect to your clients is to BE HONEST, learn to recognize that you do not know everything, do not
try to justify your mistakes with absurd explanations, your clients trust you, do not disappoint them,
offer TOTAL quality services, training yourself. ALWAYS TRAIN YOURSELF, it will not be an easy
thing to do, it implies an economic investment, hours of study, dedication and a lot of effort, but your
work will reflect the difference.

*Videos on Youtube or other platforms are a great help, use them as a support tool but do not turn it
into a learning habit.

1. WHAT ARE SEMI-PERMANENT GELS AND HOW DO THEY WORK?

The semi-permanent gels are characterized by being applied under the same system as a
traditional enamel but with the difference in its high durability and intense brightness,
another feature that we can notice is that when using this product will require a drying
lamp. The gel can be applied directly on the natural nail or on acrylic.

What type of lamp should I use?

There are 2 types of light on the market: UV and LED.

It is important that you know the differences between one light and another as you will
learn how to choose the best option.

FUNCTIONS UV LED
Price
LED light is usually higher in
price due to its technology.
DURABILITY They have a long life because
When purchasing a UV lamp the bulbs rarely burn out

TYPE OF SERVICE Due to its high potency it is

The gel in contact with the LED/UV rays hardens acquiring all the properties of a much
more resistant polish thanks to the chemical compound METACRYLATE, that is why this
service can not miss in your salon because it is an excellent option for people allergic to
acrylic, people who like to decorate their natural nails or simply customers who require an
express service because its application is quite fast.It is an excellent option for people

2. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1-STEP AND 3-STEP GEL.

Calling 1 or 3 step gel arises precisely from the products that we are going to require
within the application:

3-STEP GEL.

1) BASE: Helps protect the nail bed from possible pigmentation and at the same time
acts as an adherent for the color gel.
2) GEL COLOR: As such, these are all the color options that we can offer the client in
our nail salon.
3) TOP COAT: It is a finishing gloss that will protect the COLOR GEL from possible
detachments.

Any alteration in the 3-step system will affect the final result of our application, i.e. if we
forget to place base, it is very likely that our application will have premature lifting.

1 STEP GEL.

1) COLOR GEL: We can find them in the market as color gels, however within its
composition are already included the base and top coat.

Unlike the previous one, if we wish to add base or top coat to our 1-step system the result
will not be affected, in fact it is very common to add TOP COAT to intensify the shine even
more.

Either of the 2 options are good and meet the same guidelines to offer excellent results,
the important thing here is that it will not only depend on the type of gel we choose to
work with, but also on the quality of the gel.

3. COLOR PSYCHOLOGY

In our profession colors are the order of the day, each one of them represents something for our clients, the
designs we create reflect their personality and also ours, it is of utmost importance that you know how to
perceive the tastes of your client and offer innovative creations full of magic because colors are a form of
non-verbal communication that can transmit or evoke emotions.
It is valid to experiment with colors, however you must learn to combine them with each other, there will be
times when the client leaves the designs to your choice and what better than to offer a whole range of colors
and textures perfectly harmonized.

You should know that there are primary colors, those that we can NOT obtain by mixing other colors,
secondary colors, those that result from 2 primary and tertiary colors by combining a primary and a
secondary color. We can see how the colors are obtained in the following chromatic circle.

Chromatic circle Combination

Primary - Secondary - Tertiary

We can also broadly classify colors into warm, cool and neutral colors.

There are really no rules in this profession, we must be creative but nothing more beautiful than harmonious
designs.
The use of warm colors reflects joy, enthusiasm and energy. Cool colors give a sense of calm. Be careful with
your combinations, some look very nice but others can be unbalanced to the eye. Look at these examples:

These are just a few examples of harmonious combinations, but remember that there are no limits to
creativity.

Surely you who are starting out do not have all the colors you would like, in fact for an applicator there are
never enough colors, that is why all the above should be put into practice because one of the many benefits
offered by the semi-permanent gels is that we can mix them with each other and get new colors.
4. GLOSSARY OF A PROFESSIONAL APPLICATOR

There is a saying "To be you must appear", so I recommend that you begin to familiarize yourself with
the language of a professional nail applicator.

First of all I would like to mention that the product we are going to use is NOT called GELISH, the correct
name is SEMIPERMANENT GEL, gelish is a brand name.

TYPES OF FILING
Unidirectional filing:

Bidirectional or reciprocating filing:

On several occasions you will hear me mention degrees of inclination, to define the inclination with which
we will work the brush of our gels we must know the degree 0º, 45º and 90º.

5. CORRECT PREPARATION OF THE NATURAL NAIL FIRST WATCH THE
VIDEOBEFORE STUDYING THE NOTES #VIDEOTIPS FOLLOWED BY #VIDEO01

1. It is recommended that you and your client wash your hands before starting the application.
2. Sanitize our tools, our hands and those of the client.
3. If the client's natural nails are long, we must evaluate the resistance of the nails, because if they
are weak and fragile they could break.
4. Push back the cuticle with the curved end of the pusher and with the other end remove the
perigium without forgetting the area of the lateral grooves.
5. Remove the natural shine of the nail with a soft file, opening the adhesion channels with a 180-
220 or 240 file. Remember that the filing is vertical.
6. File the front part of the nail, with a UNIDIRECTIONAL filing to give structure to the tip.
7. Remove the powder with a brush from the cuticle area to the free edge and clean with a gauze
soaked in sanitizer or alcohol, it is very important that there are no lumps or powder residues.

6. SEMI-PERMANENT GEL APPLICATION TECHNIQUE ON NATURAL NAILS AND

ACRYLIC NAILS.

Before watching the video you should know that it is essential to seal the tip of the nail at each
application because if you do not seal it the semi-permanent gel will be exposed to lifting.

Currently there are many methods of application, some gels can even be applied without filing the nail,
however the maximum time they can last is 10 days.

I recommend that you always file the nail as this will open up the adhesion channels and your gel will
stay on longer.

When you are in the cuticle area, do not forget to mark the moon perfectly because if it is irregular, the
work will look unprofessional and with the growth of the nail, this error will stand out more.

EXERCISE: On your nails or a model's, make a complete application of smooth gel, that
is to say without any decoration, you can use different colors but it will be obligatory
to make it on a real hand.

ASPECTS TO BE QUALIFIED:
SEMI-PERMANENT GEL
COURSE
NAYLI NAILS

1. Handling of the gel (smoothness, no excess product and even color)

2. Runoff
3. Moon in cuticle area.

You will need to use a watch, note the time you start, from the preparation of the nail
to the moment you finish the application.

Take photo and video of the work and submit for review.

APPLICATION ON ACRYLIC

The steps are exactly the same, even the movement of the brush, the only 2 changes to
be made are as follows.

1) once you have given structure to the nail you MUST NOT POLISH WITH THE
SPONGE FILE, when you polish the nail with this file what happens is that you
leave a smooth surface where the gel cannot penetrate having a higher risk of
detachment.
2) When you work 3 step gel the logical thing you might think so far is that you
should use base coat and then your next steps and yes ... you are right that
would be one way to work it, however you can substitute the base coat by
placing bond or primer on the entire surface of the acrylic nail or where the gel
is going to go and continue with the normal process.

In case of using bond or primer it is no longer necessary to apply the base. In

case of using 1-step gel we apply the same method by applying bond on the
acrylic nail.

All the remaining topics marked in the syllabus will be carried out in guided and supervised practice. It is not
necessary to mention them in this booklet since you already know the theoretical bases, everything else from
now on will be pure creativity and a lot of practice.

I hope all this information will be of great help in your training as a nail applicator. I wish you every success,
may the abundance never end and may your hands be an instrument of blessing for you and those around
you.

Thank you.
