PSALMS OF ASCENT!

PSALM 132.17-18

Resplendent
HERE I WILL MAKE A HORN GROW FOR DAVID AND SET UP A LAMP FOR MY ANOINTED ONE. I WILL CLOTHE HIS ENEMIES WITH SHAME, BUT THE CROWN ON HIS HEAD WILL BE RESPLENDENT. (PSALMS 132:1718 NIV)
SHEKINAH
Are these verses a reminder of the Shekinah? W hen Solomon nished praying, re came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrices, and the glory of the LORD lled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the LORD because the glory of the LORD lled it. (2 Chron 7:12) Do we need a reminder of the glory of Gods presence now residing in a Christian? That is why we read our Bibles and pray to our great God. These actions refresh our picture of the privilege that it is to be a child of God. prophesied that Jesus had the strength of our salvation, His father Zechariah was lled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied: Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us (Luke 1:6771 NIV) Because of this we can sing songs like this one with joy and condence, In Christ alone my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song, this corner-stone, this solid ground, rm through the ercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand. Such condence means we face our challenges with a calmness that is surprising to the world, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Phil 4:1213 NIV) Will you rejoice today that we share in the resplendent crown of victory that is ours because of what Jesus did? He is our strength, our light and our salvation. Rejoice!

STRENGTH
Indeed, Jesus has all the strength over death, and this is the reasons we fear nothing on this earth, Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! (Rev 5:1112 NIV)

SYMBOLS
Verses 17 and 18 are lled with meaningful symbols. The horn signies strength, the lamp symbolises light, and the crown conveys dignity. The horn is also the horn of salvation. There were horns at the 4 corners of altar. Blood was put on them to forgive the sins of Israel. Zechariah
