JOHN 11 v 25-26

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life, he that believes on Me though he were dead yet shall he live. And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die, Do you believe this ? THE PERSON. Jesus. The Son of God. He came to this earth to be crucified on a vary s Cross enabling forgiveness and the redemption of the sinners of this world, should they desire to be reconciled to God. Acts 4 v 12 ; Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. ISAIAH 9 v 6 ; For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the prince of Peace. He is a member of the Godhead. MATTHEW 28 v 19b ; Baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. THE POWER. I am the resurrection and the life. Few people at that time would have understood what Jesus meant when He referred to His going away. Even the disciples were not sure what He meant . JOHN 14 v 5, 8 ; Thomas said unto Him, Lord we know not where you are going and how can we know the way ? V 8 Philip said to Him, Lord show us the Father and it will suffice us. They did not understand His real power, which His Father had given Him. MATTHEW 28 v 18 ; And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, All power is given unto Me in Heaven and in earth. He showed His power to the world in healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, raising the dead and following His crucifiction, He rose from the dead and appeared to many. He gave His disciples power to perform the same miracles as He did. JOHN 14 v 12 ; Verily, verily, I say to you, He that believes on Me the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do because I go to My Father. V 23. Jesus answered and said to him, If a man love Me he will keep My words, and My Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him. The presence of Jesus in our lives gives us peace of mind. V 27 ; Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. THE PLAN. He that believes on Me though he were dead. Although we all die physically, the soul, (The inner man ) is immortal and lives on in heaven for the Christian and in hell for the ungodly. Following their respective resurrections they will receive new resurrection bodies which will be immortal , This great event for the Christians is conditional on their repenting of their sins , seeking forgiveness from God through the Lord Jesus Christ and accepting Him as Lord and Saviour of their lives. They are then expected to change their life style as they meditate of the Scriptures and seek to obey what God commands. One must believe in the Godhead and worship God instead of satan. Have faith to stand up and trust the Lord. HEBREWS 11 v 6 ; But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that He is , and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. THE PARDON. Yet shall he live. Christ's death and resurrection opened the way for the world to be saved but mankind has a choice to accept or reject the teachings of the Bible. In Christ the repentant sinner can find peace, joy and eternal life with the Godhead and fellow Christians. The ungodly and unrighteous shall be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone. REVELATION 20 v 13-15 ; And the sea gave up the dead which were in it and death and hell delivered

up the dead which were in them and they were -judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. For the Christians there is a better blessing to be had. 1 THESSALONIANS 4 v 16-18 ; For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the lord. So a pardon from God brings us a tremendous result and we should praise God for sending Jesus to save us from the torments of hell. THE PEACE. And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Our future condition depends on the fact that we are true members of the family of God. The word death has two main meanings. The physical death of the body which is usually laid in a grave or cremated. and the spirit and soul remain conscious in heaven or hell. The Scriptures also speak of a living person being dead in trespasses and sins, separation from God. GENESIS 3 v 19 ; In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread, till you return to the ground, For out of it your were taken, for dust you are and to dust you shall return. ECCLESIASTES 3 v 20-21 ; All go into one place, all are of the dust. and all turn to dust again. Who knows the spirit of man that goes upwards and the spirit of the beast that goes down to the earth. LUKE 16 v 22-24 ; And it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich man died and was buried. And in hell he lift up his dyes, being in torments and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue for I am tormented in this flame. LUKE 16 v 19-25 show that the souls of these two men were very much alive although their bodies had been disposed of. Lazarus was alive and well in the paradise section of hell and the rich man's soul was very much alive and was in torment. EPHESIANS 4 v 8-10 tells us that after the death of Christ His body was laid in the grave and His soul and spirit went down into the paradise compartment of hell where He released the saints from the bondage of satan and take them up to heaven. So Christ could rightly say that those people who were firmly committed to Him would never die. JOHN 14 v 23 ; Jesus answered and said to him, If a man love Me he will keep My words and My Father will love him and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS ? Our future destination lies in our believing all that Jesus said and did as recorded in the Bible and to be fully committed to Him. Our praise and worship to God should be in truth and sincerity. MATTHEW 3 v 17 ; And lo, a voice from heaven saying, this is MY beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Jesus came to save us and keep us out of hell. JOHN I v 29 ; The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. MATTHEW I v 21 ; And she shall bring forth a Son and you shall call His name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins. ACTS 4 v 12 ; Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. HEBREWS 9 v 14-15 ; How much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. And for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament. that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressors that were under the old testament, they which are called

ACTS 2 v 38 ; Then Peter said to them, Repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. So Jesus had to die for the redemption of the sinners who reject the word of God and want to live their own lives. But each person has a free will to serve satan or Jesus. Joshua could say, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. JOHN 19 v 17-18 ' And He bearing His Cross, went forth to a place called the place of the skull, which is called in the Hebrew, Golgotha. Where they crucified Him and two other with Him on either side one and Jesus in the midst. Following His resurrection Jesus showed Himself to His disciples and many others. LUKE 24 v 46-48 ; And He said to them, thus it is written and thus it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day. That repentance and remission of sin should be preached in His name among all nations starting at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. V 39-40 ; Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself handle me and see for a spirit has not flesh and bones as you see Me have. And when He had thus spoken He showed them His hands and His feet. LUKE 24 v 49 ; And behold I send you the promise of My Father upon you, but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high. Then Jesus left His disciples and returned to His Father in heaven. V 50-51 ; And He led them out as far as Bethlehem and lifted up His hands and blessed them. And it came to pass that while He blessed them He was parted from them and carried into heaven, But the good news is that Jesus will return to take His church out of this world and take them to heaven to present it to God. If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the Cross and rose from the dead to save you from the wrath of God then commit your life to Him and trust Him for everything, and receive eternal life with Him.
