By combining classic features and precision in a true light weight package, the Model 84L creates a new benchmark for sporting rifles. The numbers are impressive. Weight is just 6 pounds, 2 ounces even with a 24-inch barrel for optimum velocity and magazine capacity is a surprising 5 rounds. The Classic model with hand-finished walnut stock is available in .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. The Classic Select Grade adds a French walnut stock with ebony forend tip, along with a third chambering the flat-shooting .25-06 Rem. All chambers are cut to match grade dimensions so each pistol can realize its accuracy potential. Ejection ports are lowered and flared so ejecting brass clears easily.

A tribute to attributes. Specialized features are the hallmark of the Compact and Pro Carry families. Some have shorter grips and light weight aluminum frames even night sights and the Kimber Tactical Rail. All have shorter 4-inch barrels that make them easy to carry.
Compact and Pro Carry pistols have 4-inch bushingless match grade bull barrels fitted directly to the slide. Chambers and triggers are also match grade. They are easier to carry and conceal, and are perfectly balanced.

Features:
Pro Carry II, Pro TLE II and Pro TLE/RL II models have steel slides. All other Compact and Pro slides are stainless steel. Pro Carry HD II, Stainless Pro TLE II and Stainless Pro TLE/RL II models have stainless steel frames. Compact Stainless II now has a light weight aluminum frame. Just for fun. Shooting a 1911 chambered in .22 LR is great practice and an ideal way to train new shooters. It is also affordable. A Kimber conversion kit for an existing 1911 pays for itself in the first few hundred rounds.

RIFLES Model 84M

The Model 84M action is designed with absolute minimal dimensions for the .308 Win. family of cartridges. This is the primary reason Model 84M rifles weigh some 2 pounds less than those from other manufacturers.

The Kimber Model 84M is the first ultra-lightweight production rifle that combines classic design, hand finishing and the advantages of a Mauser claw extractor for true controlled round feeding and extraction. Accuracy is ensured by the match grade barrel, chamber and trigger, along with pillar bedding on all models and glass bedding on rifles in big game calibers. The Model 84M action was designed with minimal dimensions to accept the .308 Win. family of cartridges. No compromise was considered. Most production rifles simply shorten their bulky, full-size actions to accommodate these shorter cartridges, and their rifles end up weighing the same as a magnum. Worse, many do the only other thing they can to save weight; shorten the barrel below optimal length. That takes the rifle out of balance and reduces velocity. The Kimber Model 84M Montana weighs just over 5 pounds, and the Model 84M Classic, Classic Stainless, Classic Select Grade and SuperAmerica weigh about 8 ounces more. Heavier rifles in varmint calibers are also available. Like all Kimber pistols and rifles, the Model 84M is built entirely inside the Kimber factory right here in America. Model 84M actions are bedded to the stock on twin aluminum pillars for strength and accuracy. Models in big game calibers also have glass bedding. Sculpted steel bottom metal has a floorplate release inside the trigger bow.

Proper stock design and a recoilabsorbing 1-inch Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad on most models diminish felt recoil. Straight comb stocks slide back, not up and into your cheekbone.

Model 84L rifles weigh just 6 pounds, 2 ounces. Even then, the match grade barrel is still 24 inches long for maximum velocity. The Model 84L does not compromise accuracy or velocity to save weight.

There is no reason - at least no good reason - for a hunting rifle in .270 Win. or .30-06 Spfd. to weigh 8 pounds. Still they do, if only because that is the way things have always been done. Custom gunmakers learned long ago that hunters wanted lighter rifles, built them and charged accordingly. Until now, light rifles have come with a heavy price. The Kimber Model 84L is a new category of rifle. Weighing only 6 pounds, 2 ounces, it offers the custom and performance features expected from Kimber at a production rifle price. A properly shaped classic walnut stock with 1-inch Pachmayr Decelerator pad diminishes felt recoil, and a fulllength match grade barrel wrings every bit of velocity and accuracy out of Americas favorite cartridges. Magazine capacity is 5 rounds, not 3 or 4, and both pillar and glass bedding stand up to the tough of the hunt. The Model 84L Classic features a walnut stock and is available in .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. The Model 84L Classic Select Grade is a step up, with a French walnut stock and ebony forend tip. Chamberings include .25-06 Rem., .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. It took Kimber to get light right.

The Model 84L action follows the minimal dimensions of the Model 84M, but is slightly lengthened for standard calibers. Both Classic and Classic Select Grade models hold 5 rounds in the magazine plus 1 in the chamber.

The Model 84L features a full-length Mauser claw extractor for true controlled round feeding and extraction. The most dependable system ever developed, it prevents the double-feeding and jamming of common push feed actions.

The Model 84L Classic Select Grade is available in .25-06 Rem., .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. The French walnut stock with ebony forend tip and hand-cut checkering establishes a new production rifle standard.

Some decisions weigh more heavily than others. A pound or two is not much at the gun counter, but it is the weight of the world at the top of a mountain. The Model 84L is the first production rifle to combine classic features, true light weight and performance with Americas most favored hunting calibers.
Model 84L rifles have a match grade trigger that breaks crisp and sharp at 3.5-4 pounds, just right to think off the shot of a lifetime. The floorplate release is inside the trigger bow to prevent accidental opening.

Features:
Three-position wing safety acts directly on the cocking piece for greatest security. Actions are bedded on twin aluminum pillars for strength, stability and accuracy. Recoil lug is glass bedded to the stock for accuracy and strength. Match grade barrels are free floated to avoid accuracy-robbing pressure from the stock. Like all Kimber rifles, the Model 84L has a match grade barrel of optimum length for the cartridge it chambers. This ensures maximum velocity and the flattest possible trajectory.

The first Model 8400 was specifically designed for the Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) family of cartridges, but rifles with standard-length actions quickly followed. As with both the Model 84M and Model 84L, every dimension is minimized to keep the rifles light, sleek and balanced. At the same time, barrels are never shortened below optimum length so maximum velocity is retained. Five models with the shorter action are offered, and they are chambered in 270 WSM, 300 WSM and 325 WSM. Details are on the following page. Optical Sights
Meprolight M-21 reflex sights deliver a bright, dependable aiming point and do not require battery power. Each has zero magnification, is parallax-free and fitted with a 30mm lens for fast target acquisition. In daylight, fiber optic cables capture ambient light and project a bright amber aiming point on the lens. Brightness selfadjusts to prevailing light conditions. In low light, the M-21 automatically transitions to Tritium power at the appropriate brightness. Meprolight reflex sights are battletested tough, and include a quick attach/detach mounting system that fits Picatinny rails. All come with a 10-year illumination warranty to the original purchaser. Meprolight M-21 reflex sights do not require battery power. Finished in matte black, they offer 4 reticle options.

The JPX Jet Protector is the most consistently effective less-lethal delivery system available today. Far more powerful than conventional canister sprays, the unique JPX pyrotechnic delivery system shoots a concentrated jet of OC solution at 270 MPH; too fast for an assailant to avoid. The JPX Jet Protector frame is constructed from tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon. Standard features include a Picatinny rail for mounting accessories or lights. An internal laser sight is also optional.

Replacement magazines for the JPX quickly snap into position. Both live and inert (training) magazines are available. Live magazines contain two powerful blasts of OC solution. Inert magazines contain two blasts of blue marker dye.

KimPro II Premium Finish
KimPro II is a proprietary high-tech firearm finish that is tough and self-lubricating. It offers outstanding resistance to a wide variety of chemicals, as well as UV light that can break down other coatings. KimPro II protects against the elements and resists abrasion to a much greater extent than conventional firearms finishes. Equally important, KimPro II is attractive, and the thin coating layer does not effect the operation of a firearm. KimPro II can be applied to aluminum, steel and stainless steel frames and slides, and is available in a wide variety of colors. A standard feature on many premium pistols and the Model 8400 Advanced Tactical rifle, the Kimber Custom Shop can refinish almost any Kimber pistol in KimPro II.

Rimfire Target .22 LR Conversion Kit

Kimber Rimfire Target conversion kits fit all Kimber .45 ACP pistols that have either 4 or 5-inch barrels and single stack magazines. They also fit many different brands of 1911 pistols. Field installation takes about one minute, and no modification or tools are required. Conversion kits are not classified as a firearm and can be purchased directly from Kimber.
