Name of the Game- Follow the music Explanation

Stage: Early stage 1

Teacher will ask students to spread around the field, and then the teacher will asks students to start walking while listen to music. When the teacher turn on volume loud, student s will need to run around the field and if the teacher turn the music soft, student immediate crouch themselves. The aim of this game is to get the students to warm up their body for awhile after sitting in the class.

Why is this game important for this stage? This game is important because children can communicate and respond to simple instructions and rules given by the teacher when they follow the instructions. This game can help the student to understand the values of participating in physical activities They have fun in competing in the game.

What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? COES1.1 Communicating skills with the teacher, by following the teachers instructions ALES1.6 Develops a repertoire of physical activities in which they can participate. INES1.3 Relates well to others in work and play situations.

Part A - WARM UP GAMES PROFORMA PDHPE (students are to use one part A proforma for each of the 4 games, one page for each one) Name of the Game: tunnel ball Explanation Children will be divided into four groups to form a line. Then each individual group have their own basket located in front of them and each of them will have a turn to collect a ball from a big basket that full of different colour of balls which is located at about 4 meters in the middle of field. They have to get the ball one person by one person and each person and each person is allowed to get as much as they can hold and put them in their group basket. But before that, the teacher will hold up her hand with colour cards on what colour of ball they are going to get. After, the teacher has blown the whistle, students are run to get the ball. The fastest group to collect up to 20 balls will be winner. Why is this game important for this stage? It is to introduce the team work and get them to demonstrate a fair play and cooperation in small groups They are having fun and getting to learn different kinds of balls used in games Stage: stage 1

-It is getting them into a physical activity of running, not just stand in one place

What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? - -COS1.1 with the other peers, about who is going to get ball first etc. - DMES1.2 The students will have to think of strategic ways and make a decision on what they are going to do. - MOS1.4 doing the physical activity by running.

Each group will have three students standing opposite to one another behind the marked line. The teacher will hand a basketball to each front student of each side of the group and when the teacher has blown the whistle, the students standing at the front are to start jumping with a basketball to pass it to their team mate on the other side. Then they are to continue passing the ball to all the other team mates on the other side until everyone has had a turn (at throwing the basketball to the students on the other side). If the student drops the ball while jumping, then they have to run back to the end of the Stage : stage 2

line and start again. The group who can be the fastest ones to finish the game is the winner.

Why is this game important for this stage? Its important for this game because students need to learn how to work as a group Students are not just moving physically but also think and use their skills to hold onto ball -Students will need to follow the rules

What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? IRS2.11: They can develop communication with group mates. PSS2.4: They know how to identify some cues to achieve a goal. GSS2.8: They can show the cooperation leading to success in game

Part A - WARM UP GAMES PROFORMA PDHPE (students are to use one part A proforma for each of the 4 games, one page for each one) Name of the Game: Who are the sport stars? Explanation The class is divided into two teams and each group form their own line. Then the teacher gives group one students a red band and group two students will have a yellow band to put them on their waist. The teacher will set up some orange cones to indicate that this game has obstacles. Each group has a basketball to start with and after the teacher has blown the whistle, the front students of each group hold on their basketball to jump over these orange cones and they need to dribble the basketball on the side of cones when they come back to pass it to their group mate. If the student knocks down any of the cones, then their chance to pass the ball is gone, but the student can go back to end of line to continues. The winner is the team which can have the most students left after 10 minutes. Stage: Stage 3

Why is this game important for this stage? - Students learn and build up teamwork skills to get the score. -Students develop their decision making skills - students concentrate on listening to what the teacher says and learn the dribbling and jumping skill .

What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How?

DMS3.2: Children apply decision-making processes when choosing a recreational pursuit. GSS3.8: Children need to combine a series of skills in the game, e.g run,pass. Children can identify their roles and responsibilities in groups, e.g. team, class

Part B - INVASION GAMES PROFORMA PDHPE (students are to use one part B proforma for each of the 2 invasion game, one page/game, 1 game S 2 + 1 game S 3 Name of the Invasion Game volley Game Explanation Students start with flipping the coin to decide which team is group 1 and group 2. Group 1 uses the left side of field and group 2 uses the right side. At the back of each group there are five cones which locate that it is for the opposite team to knock down, Group 1 need to run to a certain distance to knock down the cones with the volleyball which are located at the back of group 2. In this game, they use a volley ball and make sure they follow the rules. The first team who knock down all cones will be the winners. Why is this game important for this stage? -Its because the Students are using the volley ball skills They can come up with different strategies to knock the cones down with decision making -Students can learn to follow the rules of the game or the volleyball game itself Stage: stage 3

What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? COS3.3 communicates confidently in a variety of situations DMS3.2 they need to decide whether to give the ball the team mates or straight to knocking down the cones

-MOS3.4 they need to use their volley ball skills to aim the ball to hit the cones, which are outside of the volleyball field and not in the field

Part B - INVASION GAMES PROFORMA PDHPE (students are to use one part B proforma for each of the 2 invasion game, one page/game, 1 game S 2 + 1 game S 3 Name of the Invasion Game Go and Explanation Class are divided into two groups and each group into team of five. Each group has to play on the basketball court. The teacher numbers the team 1 and 2, team 1 stands on one side of basketball court and team 2 stand on the other side. Using a basketball , each group has to dribble the ball to the opposite side when they are in the scoring range, passes once to their team mate, who continues it until teacher blowed whistle. they have to get the ball into ring by bouncing Pass Stage: stage 2

with two hand. One team is in the scoring range, the opposite team can not be in scoring range. In other words, when one person already in scoring range, they have a chance to score. At this point, if they are not in the scoring range they not allow to bounce the ball. Also they cannot get the ball outside of court. The first team scores the most will be the winner Why is this game important for this stage? Its important because they learn how to work as a team They learn dribbling skills for basketball They learn target skill by bouncing the ball into the ring DMS2.2 how the students are going to bring the ball, alone or to be given to their team mates COS2.1 if they are to hand over the ball to other team mates, how they are going to position themselves
