Antisecretory action: Omeprazole inhibits the activity if the acid(proton) pump, H+/K+ adenoses triphosphatase, located at the secretory surface of the gastric patietal cell. This blocks formation of gastric acid.

dizziness, headache abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea back pain cough, upper respiratory tract infection rash

Note that taking of this drug may increase alkaline phosphatase and serum crea levels. Check patency of IV site prior to giving medication Assess IV line prior to giving paracetamol Perform 10 Rs in giving medicaion

Instruct patient to report signs of adverse reaction. Follow the medication regiment directed by the physician.

Analgesic action: Mechanism and site of action may be related to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in CNS. Antipyretic Action: Drug mat exert antipyretic effect by direct action on hypothalamic heat regulation center to block effects of endogenous pyrogen.

This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy or cause blurred vision. Instruct patient to report signs of adverse reaction.

Contraindication: Patients with history of Renal & hepatic failure.

Ulcers

Contraindication: Patient with known hypersensitivity to benzydamine or to any of the components of the vehicle.

Anti-Inflammatory action: Benzidamine inhibits the biosynthesis of prostaglandins under certain conditions, but its properties in this respect have not been fully elucidated. The stabilising effect on cellular membranes may also be involved in the mechanism of action.

Assess patient if he/she has an history of allergy of benzydamine family Uninterrupted treatment should not exceed seven days Difflam oral rinse should generally be used undiluted, but if stinging occurs the rinse may be diluted with water.

Teach patient proper oral rinse or gargle technique.

Explain to the patient that Difflam oral rinse should be used as directed to rinse the mouth. It should then be spat out, not swallowed

Antibacterial action: Gentamicin is bactericidal; Destroys gram-negative bacteria by irreversibly binding to 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and blocking protein synthesis, resulting in misreading of genetic code and separation of ribosomes from messenger RNA

Perform aseptic technique like handwashing If you think you did not get the drop of medicine into your eye properly, use another drop . To keep the medicine as germ-free as possible, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface When using both ointments and drops medications, use the ointment AFTER the drops.

Contraindication: Patient with known hypersensitivity to benzydamine or to any of the components of the vehicle.

Teach patient to recognize and immediately report signs and symptoms of hypersensitivit y reaction. Instruct patient that in order to clear up the infection completely, keep using this medicine for the full time of treatment , even if your symptoms have disappeared. Do not miss any doses . Instruct patient to try to keep your eyes closed for one minute after instilling drops to obtain maximum benefit from

medications.

Antibacterial action: Corticosteroids stimulate the synthesis of enzymes needed to decrease the inflammatory response.

Contraindication: Patient with known hypersensitivity to drug and its components.

Wash hands before and after use. Tilt your head back slightly, and pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Squeeze a strip of the ointment (about 1/3-inch long) into the pouch and close your eye. Do not touch the eye or eyelid with the tip of the tube

Teach patient to apply ointment. Advice him to wash hands before and after using drug. Tell patient to apply light finger pressure on lacrimal sac for 1 minute after instillation. Instruct patient if he miss a dose, take it as soon as he can. If it is almost time for the next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or

extra doses.
