to protect each bus cable. Read the other pages in this file and understand how you will wire them. You will need to turn off power to the concentrator for about 1 - 2 hours. Before turning off concentrator, shut down gNA (that is good time to defrag gNA computer). Ensure the red and green modules are fully seated in their base elements (transport may have loosen them). The protectors will snap onto the DIN rail in your concentrator. First hook the top on then push the bottom until it snaps on. The metal feet that snap on the DIN rail are connected directly to the grounding connectors 2 and 4. The feet are grounding points. Tools needed: Wire Cutters, Knife, Screwdriver, Cable Ties. Punch out 3 holes in the bottom and 3 holes on the side of the concentrator (punch from inside to outside). Normal cable glands are too small to support the cables. Plan to support with cable ties. Ensure the DIN rail will hold all your lightning protector sets. You may have to shift other things like SlimPaks. Label both sides (where you will cut) of the bus cables with the bus number Installation Shut down gNA. Turn off concentrator power and remove plug. You can leave the bus cables connected to the concentrator. Cut the bus cables about 2 1/2 feet from the end (ensure the short end will reach into the concentrator far enough). Strip the bus cables insulation about 8 inches or so. Connect the wires correctly to the lightning protectors. It is easier to connect the wires first then attach the protector to the DIN rail. Turn on concentrator. Start gNA and resend calibrations to concentrator. Label the protectors with the bus number.

Lightning Protector Set with bus cable without shield (degasser cable). If bus cable has a shield, connect shield at bottom connector 3 on both red and green modules. Then connect a grounding wire at the top connector 4 on both modules and ground in concentrator (Top connection not critical since module snap-on feet will ground connectors 3 and 4 to DIN rail).
