EXECUTIVESUMMARY

ThecompanywhereIdidmyinternshipiscalledTwin Peaks Resources. I was interviewed and hired by Encik Affendi Bin Haji Mohd Shariff, the General Manager cum owner of thecompany and also the Public Relation Manager Tuan Haji Ghazali Karim in thecompany.Myinternshipstartedon the9th June2011and lastedfor20weeks untilthe30th September 2011,on a part-time basis withtheocialworking hoursstarting from2pmto8pm.During the internship,I was reportingmainlytoTuan Haji Ghazali Karim

ABSTRACT The purpose of research work is to analyze the organization and the performance of Twin Peaks Resources since 20011. This Business Internship Report is prepared on Twin Peaks Resources performance in competitive supplying sector & its products & services. The Business Internship Report contains Executive Summary, Introduction, History of Twin Peaks Resources, Product & Services of Twin Peaks Resources. During the Internship, I worked in various operations as general supplier including stationeries, sports equipment, office furniture, office cleaning and etc. The company will have to work hard to meet the challenges of competition and to satisfy the customer to accelerate the business. In this report only primary data is used. In primary data the information is collected by getting briefings from Manager and from the Operation Manager .

ABOUT TWIN PEAKS RESOURCES

Twin Peaks Resources is one of the smallest supplying company on the rise in Ipoh. Twin Peaks Resources incorporated in 1995. Since the company has been headway in improving their services. The company is now included as one of the top most favourite supplier of Perak The Manager of Twin Peaks Resources is Encik Noh Affandi bin Mohd shariff and the Public relation Manager is Tuan Haji Ghazali Karim . Twin Peaks Resources is one of the leading supplier in Perak with a deposit base of about RM. 280 thousand and total assets of around RM500 thosands. Incorporated in 1995, Twin Peaks Resources soon earned the reputation of a solid and conservative company managed by disciplined officers. The company has a regular customer base of approximately 55. During the last fifteen years, the company has concentrated on growth through improving service quality, investment in technology and people, utilizing its extensive network, developing a large and stable base. I have learnt a lot in Twin Peaks Resources about Marketing, Clearing and Transferring of goods, Issuing the local order and other documents etc. The exposure has given me a lot of knowledge especially about consumer service operations..

MONTHLYANDQUARTERLY REPORTING

Other thandoingdatainput,itisalso my responsibilitytocalculatethe values, preparetheLO, DO andalsotovetthroughthereports fromclients. On top of my assigned duties, I took the initiatitive to reformat the coverage reporting template, inserting formulas when necessary such eort requiredtopreparefuturereports.Thenewtemplatewasacceptedbythe Directorandnowimplemented inthemain office,aswellasusedbyour clients . The calculations will be automated and therefore reducethe amount ofeortrequiredtopreparefuturereports

Audio Transcription All the meetings that we have conducted with the clients are recorded and for the rst 2 weeks of my internship, I was responsible for transcribing these audio clips and provide a word for word report of the meetings sothatbylinesandwhitepaperscanbe developedusingthedatafromthe transcription. Our Public Relation Manager, Tuan Haji Ghazali Karim, taught me the basic fundamentalsof one to one attending of customers and I wasgiven the opportunitytoservicethe Royal Police Force in Bukit Aman.

CLIENTS a. Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah Kinta Selatan

Iwasinvolvedinpreparingand supervising therenovations and upgrading SK Ulu Geruntum,disseminatingthesupplierinvitesandfollowingupwiththesubcontractorfor priortotheevent. During theevent, Iwasresponsiblefor monitoringtransporting of materials andensuring thattheprocedures went

well. Ifolloweduptogatherthelistof potential clients andtheirproduct. Throughouttheprocess,Iwasalsoinvolvedinall thenecessaryadministra've workthatcomesalong,suchas ExpensesTracking . b. Supplying Materials For Jabatan Perkhidmatan Korporat

For this client, I am fully responsible for the supplying and servising materials such as audio system unlike in the servising department, whereI work with ateam of 3 other colleagues. I liaise directly with theBank negara and the client, whereIhelpservicetheirqueriesandrequests.For coveragereporting, Itooktheininitiativetocreateatracking excelsheetthat willautomatically calculateallthevaluesandalsodidastepbystep instructions sheetforthe useofthetrackingsheetforothersto useinfuture. c. PRandLogistics For the three days, I was on location, preparing to introduce the company to the clients,andalsodoingfrontocedutieswhenrequired.

Marketing&Sales Forafew hourseachday for2months,I wasdoingtelemarketing (coldcalling) fortheclient,speaking tothe Directors/Managers orVPsof HumanResourcesincompaniesspanningvariousindustries.Despitenotgiven any quotaasthistaskisprovidedoutofTwin Peaks Resourcessgoodwill . My eorts managedtoaccountfor50%ofthecompanys revenues

BUSINESSDEVELOPMENT&RESEARCH a. ResearchProjects Apartfrommydailydutiesandresponsibilitiesfromthetechnologyand consumerdepartment,Iwastaskedby ourmanagerandpublic relation managertoperformresearchfunctionsforvariouspurposes.Andthisranges fromnding Malaysia.Ididanindepthresearchreportonthemediaoutlets inPerak andKuala Lumpurthatusesvodcastsand hostsvideos.Itwasa greatcomplimentwhentheManager oftheocethoughtitwas really professionalandsent thecopyofmyworkdirectlytotheclient.

b. Business Development I also took the initiative to contribute to the business of Twin Peaks

Resources by spending time on top of my working hours to update thecompanyclientslist.Irecreatedabrandnew clientslistwith hyperlinking functionsandformulas thatenableeasysearchoftheir contacts.Ontopof that,toensurethatthe clientslistis uptodate,Icalled upevery company tondoutthenamesandcontactsoftheir team.Ontopofthat,Ialso inputted these contacts onto the Twin Peaks Resources intranet where all Twin Peaks Resources employees can view and make use of this information.

TWIN PEAKS RESOURCES INHOUSETRAINING Twin Peaks Resources oersregulartrainingfortheiremployees.Ihavetakenadvantageof theseclassesandspent10hoursintraining. The classesIhaveattended are: PR Fundamentals, Eectivesales with Microsoft Word,MailMerge, Asaresultofthesetrainings,Iammore procient inusing ofthesupplying MicrosoftOce functions inmydailyworkandreports.On topofthat ,I industryprofessionallyandallhavebeenreectedintheprogressofmywork.

MAJORACCOMPLISHMENTS Developedgoodrelationswithclientsandmyworkcomplimented,The officers In Jabatan Perkhidmatan KorporatdidnotknowIwasaninternand specically requestedformetoworkontheirnextproject. Public relation Manager Tuan Haji Ghazali Karaim,acknowledgethequality ofmyworkwhenhesentmy researchreportdirectlytotheclient. Myinitiativeswereconrmedbymycolleaguesandsuperiorswhenthey acceptedandstartedusingthe newclient listthatIhadcreatedfromscratch. Another initiatives, coverage calculation template for reporting, that was acceptedand used forclients likePPD Kinta Selatan, Police Force,JPN Perak wasanotherconrmationofmyefforts.

CONCLUSION During the study of internship, I drew the following conclusions. Twin Peaks Resources limited has implemented a system which promises the efficiency growth of the company. MIS and computerization of the company system has enhanced the efficiency of Twin Peaks Resources. Delegation of authority, and wide participation of employees in the decision making provides the company a competitive edge. Twin Peaks Resources provides a conducive environment for career growth.. There are too lengthy formalities and procedures involved in servicing and supplying offered by the company. Twin Peaks Resources made substation progress, recording strong growth in revenues and earnings. The main derives were increase in outreach, strengthened human resources. Including changes at the management level, enhanced product portfolios, improved control and vigilant servicing risk management. Our primary focus was our customers and we worked diligently through the year to increase satisfaction and loyalty as the needs and expectation of our diversified base of customers continued to expand. This expected to help the Twin Peaks Resources in providing customer centric solution in a more group generated healthy environment

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Training can be provided with job rotations so each of the employees is capable of doing others work in case of emergency, this will ensure no delays are met. 2. As Twin Peaks Resources earning a lot of profit stock options should be given to every employee. 3. Workers need more computer training. 4. Twin Peaks Resources need to invest more in technology and bring all banking procedures up-to-date. 5. Twin Peaks Resources needs to be updated more to handle transfers, servicing, renovations and management.
