Status readinesses of your school and teachers to your school meet the e-education policy goal.

Introduction:
E-education policy is learning through the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) with an aim to improve the quality of learning and teaching across the education and training system its policy goal is that by 2013 every South African learner in the general and further education and training bands will be able to use ICTs confidently and creatively to help to develop the skills they need to achieve personal goals and to be fully participants in the global community. Its objective is to build digital and information literacy so that all learners become confident and competent in using technology to contribute to an innovative and developing South African society. It focuses on learning and teaching for a new generation of young people who are growing up in a digital world and are comfortable with technology. Body: There are some e-schools where learners and teachers use ITCs to enhance teaching and learning. In those schools teachers and learners have skills necessary for the use of new information and communication technology. They have developed into learning organisations consisting of a community of both teachers and learners who function across three dimensions i.e. operational, cultural and critical dimension. They step into the culture that support the practice of using ICTs for education purposes regardless of ones level of expertise. Teachers and learners also step outside culture and challenge assumption that are embedded in the success stories about ICTs inside and outside schools. These schools have access to ICTs resources that support curriculum. They allow community to its computer facilities after hours. They receive support from the community to maintain and sustain ICT intervention. They also serve as a venue for business advisory services and training for community based small computers and repair businesses. Qualified and competent leaders use ICTs for planning, management and administration. Conclusion: Gauteng online provides learnership to people so that by 2013 every South African learner be capable of using ICTs confidently and creatively to be fully participants in the global community. Department of education determine the basic ICT tools to be supplied to each institution defined as e-school.
