A single lever permits smooth variation in speed ratios over a wide range from zero. The construction of this duplex friction drive was analyzed as a complete solution to variable speed transmission. Single lever turns the driving gear which intern rotates the driving pinions on the forks thereby changing the friction angle which will result in appropriate range in speed this mechanism changes the angle by 0 to 30 - speed changes between ranges of 7:1. Two friction surfaces in contact which increased the torque transmitting capacity, easy to maintain, low cost, compact size.
