Opportunities for Indian Students to Study at CIC Universities in the United States

Program Overview The program will pay all expenses for 80 Indian students to travel to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and to partner universities to engage in a hands-on research project. Indian students will be matched with faculty members based on what type of project they would like to work on. This is an excellent opportunity to apply lab skills in an independent environment. At the end of the program, students will present their projects at a symposium. Program Dates: Mid-May End July 2012 Application Deadline: 30 November 2011 at 16:30 (India time) Eligibility 1. Candidates currently enrolled in B. Tech, M.Tech, or M.Sc. courses in science, engineering, and medicine are eligible to apply. You must be currently enrolled in recognized institution of higher education in India. This program is not open to those who already have a graduate or undergraduate degree. 2. The applicant should have a have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 8.5 or higher (Percentage equivalent: 80% and higher). 3. Candidates are encouraged to submit the application as a single pdf document. Scans or other electronic versions of documents will also be accepted. 4. Applications in subject-fields other than those specified in the advertisement will not be considered. 5. Incomplete applications and applications received after the stipulated date will not be considered. A list of partner universities in the United States is available online. Please do not contact faculty at these partner universities, we will arrange for internships when finalists are selected. Scholarship The program will pay all expenses for 80 Indian students to travel to U.S. universities to engage in a hands-on research project. This includes a stipend, accommodation, and airfare. Accommodations will be arranged when finalist are selected. Students may be responsible for covering minor administrative costs.
