The movie begins with an old man called Paul Edgecomb who lives in a retirement centre. He is watching a movie and he remembers his work as a guard in The Green Mile. Paul (played by Tom Hanks) works as a guard and he suffers from a urinary infection. One afternoon the guards bring a new inmate, called John Coffey (played by Michael Clark Duncan). He is a gigantic muscular man, but he is scared or the dark. He cant sleep without lights. He is accused of killing two sisters, but he never mentions anything about the crime. Some days later, Brutus, one of the guards finds a mouse but he cant catch it. One of the inmates catches the mouse and keeps it. He calls Mr. Jingles. They became friends. One of the guards, Percy wants to kill the mouse. He is obsessed with the death of the animal. One day, Paul feels very ill. He walks on the hall and suddenly john takes his hands and the air fills of drops. After that Paul feels good as new. He doesnt understand what happens, but he knows that john does miracles. Then john cures others peoples diseases.

At the next day, the governor visits Paul. He is very worried because his wife is very ill. She has cancer and she will die. So, they decide to carry john to the governors house to cure Melinda. She is very grateful with him and she gives a necklace as a present. Paul thinks about john, and he didnt execute him. John put his hands with Pauls hands and the guard can see the real story. John didnt kill those girls. Coffey says that he feels the pain in the world. He wants to rest. Paul offers to john a last request, he have never watched a film. So, the guards bring a film projector with the film top hat. After the execution of john, Paul abandoned the green mile. He cant work there anymore. When Coffey dies, he infects to Paul and Mr. Jingles with eternal life.

My impression of the movie

I love this film; its the best film Ive ever seen. It is based on the novel The green mile by Stephen king. I think the script is excellent and very interesting. Tom hank is my favourite actor. His acting in this film is amazing, for moments he is serious but he is actually a sensitive person. The character of john Coffey makes me feel much moved. The actors play their roles in a brilliant way. The film techniques and the music are really good. I think that the director chooses the right music for each moment. The special effects when john cures people are incredible.
