BRAZOS VALLEY FUTBOL CLUB

CONSTITUTION
(AS VOTED ON AND APPROVED AT THE GENERAL MEETING OF 03/21/07)

ARTICLE I. NAME
The name of the organization shall be the Brazos Valley Futbol Club, hereafter referred to as BVFC.

ARTICLE II. PURPOSE


It shall be the objective of the BVFC to provide an opportunity for the youth of the Brazos Valley and its outlying areas to participate in competitive soccer. The BVFC shall be a 501(c ) non-profit entity. For U-11 through U-14, the focus will be on player development. Emphasis will be placed on improving individual skills. Success will be measured in player and team improvement, while competing against the best competition possible. Players of this age group will be encouraged to diversify their skills in multiple sports. For older players, U-15 through U-19, the focus will be twofold. First, training for these players will challenge them to higher level of physical and mental conditioning, producing players and teams with high-level soccer thinking skills, physical finesse, and tactical cunning. The intent will be to produce not only top-notch club players and championship caliber teams, but also vital varsity high school players. Secondly, BVFC will endeavor to showcase its high school seniors, juniors and sophomores to recruiting college coaches.

ARTICLE III. AFFILIATION


BVFC shall be affiliated with the Brazos Valley Youth Soccer Association (BVYSA), the South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) and its member associations, and the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA).

ARTICLE IV. JURISDICTION


BVFC shall be subject to the constitution and By-Laws established by the Board. BVFC shall have jurisdiction over all member teams, players, coaches, trainers, parents, and administrators.

ARTICLE V. MEMBERSHIP
Membership in all BVFC activities shall be extended to any USYSA eligible player selected for placement on a BVFC team. Member teams shall register their players with the club registrar (and in accordance with STYSA registration guidelines.)

ARTICLE VI. SEASONAL & FISCAL YEARS

The Seasonal Year shall be the same as the STYSA seasonal year. The Fiscal Year shall begin June 1 st and end May 31st.

ARTICLE VII. GOVERNING BOARD


The Board of Directors shall consist of the following officers and representatives; Commissioner Deputy Commisioner Secretary Treasurer Registrar Team Head Coach (1 per member team) The Board shall transact all business of the BVFC and shall have the power to enforce the Constitution, By-Laws and rules of this club, the parent association, any participating Association, STYSA and USYSA. The Board shall have the power to settle all disputes of the BVFC. The duties of each officer shall be provided for in the By-Laws.

ARTICLE VIII. AMENDMENTS


Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws may be made at any regular meeting of the General Voting Membership. Notice of the vote of any amendments shall be issued 14 days prior to the actual vote. Passage of the amendment is by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the General Voting Membership in attendance at the meeting.

ARTICLE IX. DISSOLUTION


In the event the BVFC is dissolved or ceases to function, the Board shall make the following provisions. Assets of the Club shall be disposed of to pay Club liabilities and any balance remaining shall be disbursed to such organizations established exclusively for charitable, educational, religious or scientific purposes.
