Mechanical Power Take Off OMSI Power Take Off

Split shaft power take-offs and engine driven power take-offs for truck mounted equipment The OMSI Trasmissioni S.p.a. line of power take-offs includes a number of basic models covering the full range of power drive requirements. Split shaft and engine driven PTO's eliminate the necessity of installing an auxiliary engine drive and they are used in cases where conventional transmission PTO's are not capable of providing the required power. The split shaft PTO it is positioned within the truck chassis between the transmission and differential. By selecting the most suitable drive range, it allows to transmit the maximum engine horsepower. The PTO can be operated with the vehicle in the stationary mode or in motion, if required. These units are designed for truck power trains from 50 to 370 kW (67 to 500 HP). The engine driven PTO is independent of the clutch and it is installed directly between the engine and transmission, allowing the maximum power transfer even when the vehicle is in motion. Engineered with extensive safety margins and combined with the selection of the highest grade of gears, shafts materials and precision machined components, the OMSI PTO's provide maximum efficiency and reliability.

Hydrostatic Drive OMSI hydrostatic Drive

The OMSI groups for combined drive systems, mechanical and hydrostatic, are suspended with their flexible mounts to the chassis frame between the transmission and differential of the truck. They are set up to couple a hydraulic pump and hydraulic motor that, when connected through a hydraulic circuit, permits the conversion of the vehicles traction from mechanical to hydrostatic. They are designed for vehicles calling for very low forward speeds and easy control during work (hydrostatic), and requiring that mechanical drive be restored during transfer so that top speed can be reached. An additional output, used as a power take off at constant speed, eliminates the need for an auxiliary engine.
